Betty White And Ryan Seacrest Among Many Primetime Emmy Awards Winners

The Betty White mania continues with her Primetime Emmy win this past Saturday for Best Guest Actress in a Comedy Series. If you have not seen White’s appearance in the May 2010 Saturday Night Live which won her this Emmy, you should immediately go to Hulu and see selected clips of that episode.

The trophy is the fifth Primetime Emmy received by the 88-year-old White, according to the TV academy. Her previous wins were for roles on various TV classics such as The Mary Tyler Moore Show and The Golden Girls.

Although White did not attend in person, she won her latest Emmy at the non-televised Creative Arts Ceremony which is the precursor to the main August 29 Primetime Emmy Awards and where two-thirds of the Awards are handed out.

Some other notable winners Saturday include:

Ryan Seacrest for producing the Best Reality TV Series (Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution)
Neil Patrick Harris for Best Guest Actor – Comedy Series (Glee)

John Lithgow for Best Guest Actor – Drama Series (Dexter)
Jeff Probst for Best Reality Show Host (Survivor)
Mia Michaels for Outstanding Choreography (So You Think You Can Dance)
Modern Family for Best Casting (comedy)

Mad Men for Best Casting (drama)

The televised portion of the Primetime Emmy Awards will be hosted by Jimmy Fallon and will air Sunday, Aug. 29 (8 p.m. ET) on NBC.

Justin Guarini To Make Broadway Debut In Women On The Verge of A Nervous Breakdown

Justin Guarini may so far be best known for not having won the first season of American Idol, or for starring in the Box Office flop, From Justin to Kelly (which sadly ranks as #22 on IMDB.com’s all-time 100-worst-rated movies). But Guarini is hoping  all that is about to change very soon.

Guarini may have lost to Kelly Clarkson on Idol but he just won a key role in the Broadway musical, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown, set to open in New York this November.

Guarini will play the role of Carlos and will join a slew of other Idol alums who have appeared on Broadway, including, Constantine Maroulis, Fantasia Barrino, Clay Aiken, and Diana DeGarmo.

Steven Tyler Falls Off Of Stage Again–This Time, Toronto [Video]

VIDEO CLIP OF THE DAY.

Why does this keep happening? Why does Steven Tyler keep falling off of the stage while performing?

I almost died laughing seeing Tyler getting hip-butted by Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry, and landing head-first into the crowd. It’s only funny to me because Tyler was OK, got right back on stage, yelled, “It ain’t gonna happen again, baby,” and kept rocking the crowd in Toronto.

But, Tyler can’t keep avoiding death this way. I hope American Idol hires him soon. THAT WAY, Tyler can still enjoy his time on stage, but instead of risking his life, he will just sit and avoid any more accidents or injuries.

See the video below for the latest fall.

Here is Tyler falling off of the stage last August in Sturgis, South Dakota, ironically during the same song (Love in an Elevator):

Madonna Sued For Deceptive Use Of “Material Girl” Trademark

Remember when I reported in June that Madonna and her daughter Lourdes had created a new fashion line together for Macy’s called Material Girl? Didn’t that sound like the cutest thing ever?

Well, it’s not so cute anymore. Not since L.A. Triumph, Inc. filed suit against Madonna claiming Madonna’s “Material Girl” line infringes on L.A. Triumph’s “Material Girl” clothing line which was established in 1997.

According to TMZ, L.A. Triumph wants a declaration from a federal judge that Madonna’s use of “Material Girl” creates “deception” in the marketplace and wants the judge to order Madonna and her company to turn over all of the profits they’ve made from their clothing line.

This just sounds crazy to me. I have never heard of LA Triumph or the clothing line Material Girl associated with anyone other than Madonna. Madonna is the “Material Girl.” But if this is true, was Madonna’s lawyer asleep at the wheel? How hard was it to do a trademark search before launching Madonna’s clothing line? This sounds fishy to me. I can’t wait to see how this one unfolds.

Kanye West & Justin Bieber: The Twitter Love Fest Grows

Kanye West has close to 690,000 followers on Twitter and until recently, Kanye followed no one back. Not a single person. But all that changed a couple of days ago when Kanye decided to start following his first Twitter friend.

Of all the people in the world, the last person I or probably you would have guessed that one person to be would be Justin Bieber. But, that is in fact the the only person Kanye now follows.

Earlier this summer, we had the start of the still-ongoing Twitter love fest between Terrell Owens and Chad Ochocinco, who are now also known as Batman and Robin to each other, respectively.
Now we have a new blossoming Twittership between Kanye West and Justin Bieber. See if you can follow their love Tweets to each other:

Kanye West: Listening to Justin Bieber “Run Away love” … I love Sunday mornings in the crib

Kanye West: I just did the most cliche celebrity tweet of all time… listening to! When people tweet that I’m always like… uuum great .. so what!

Kanye West: But I have listened to Runaway Love about 10 times so far … ironically I got a song called Runaway on my new album too

Justin Bieber: @kanyewest: it’s not a so what moment for me. I’m 16 and a fan. I’m kinda hyped u are listening to my stuff. Thank u. Nice sunday morning

Kanye West: JustinBieber and I are tweeting at the same time… Social networking is pretty awesome

Kanye West: JustinBieber!!! You gotta hear the album. Maybe we can do something together. Me, You and Raekwon

Justin Bieber: @kanyewest me, u, and the chef 2gether on a song = EPIC. haha. might sound crazy 2 u but even having this convo is living the dream. thanks

Kanye West: I wish you could have been in the studio last night! Kobe and Swizzy’s kids would have lost it!!!

Kanye West: Yo this Runaway Love is the truth!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! on my 17th listen 2day!!! Every time I get to that song I got go in 4 times!!

Kanye West: OK OK OK… I just started dancing to this joint in my crib and clapping to it way to loud to be inside hahahah …

Justin Bieber: what is crazy is that I play Heartless every night in my set acoustic. this convo is crazy for me. Excited 4 ur new album

Justin Bieber: tweeting with @kanyewest and on stage with @drakkardnoir this week. Over a year ago I posted this vid…LIFE IS CRAZY –

Wonder what Usher would think of this new budding Twittership since Usher is supposedly mentoring Justin through puberty.

California Gay Marriages Stopped Once Again

I saw this coming a mile away: Same-sex marriages in the state of California are once again up in the air and on indefinite hold after the three-judge panel of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals blocked the unions Monday while it considers the constitutionality of the state’s gay marriage ban.

This decision trumps U.S. District Judge Vaughn R. Walker’s Aug. 4 ruling that would have allowed county clerks to begin issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples on Wednesday.

The panel agreed to hold a hearing on the case during the week of Dec. 6 and ordered both sides to present arguments on whether the campaign for Proposition 8 has legal authority to appeal Walker’s order.
