It is always interesting to find out something about a celebrity you thought you knew inside and out. Even while living a very public life, they might not broadcast every part of themselves, so it can be purely by chance that we discover these things. So which celebrities are secretly card sharks? Here are a few that might be able to clean you out if you ever run into them on the casino floor.

Kevin Hart

A few years ago, actor and comedian Kevin Hart was at a poker tournament in the Caribbean when he went head to head against another player for a total of $40,000. In what has been called “one of the craziest hands of poker” ever televised, Hart actually misreads his own hand and believes he has better cards than he does. Still, he manages to win the pot, which he split with the other player. This, in addition to his previous appearance at the Super High Roller table at the PokerStars Championship Bahamas, shows just how seriously he takes his poker.

Jennifer Tilly

Actress Jennifer Tilly is known for her distinct voice that has seen her voice everything from Bonnie in Family Guy to Tiffany Valentine in the Child’s Play film series. However, she is also an excellent poker player who has a World Series of Poker bracelet and more than $1 million in winnings over her career. Her tournament win came in the Women’s No Limit Texas Hold’em event in 2005.

Steve Albini

Steve Albini is an accomplished music producer who has worked with Nirvana, The Breeders, The Stooges, and Bush. Like others on this list, he is also an accomplished poker player who has been able to go toe-to-toe with the pros in the past with multiple tournament wins to his credit. With the World Series of Poker back in action this year (after the disruption of the pandemic), Albini was back in Las Vegas for more. He was seated in the earlier days of the event (which started on September 30th with thousands of players involved), and unfortunately came up short of expectations. Nevertheless, he is considered to be on par with most pros and will likely be back to the final table soon.

Jason Alexander

Best known for his role as George on iconic sitcom Seinfeld, Jason Alexander plays poker both online and offline. He won Celebrity Poker Show, taking the pot of $500,000 for his chosen charity. As recently as 2020, he won The King’s Celebrity Poker Challenge, a World Poker Tour charity event, so it is a talent that he seems determined to use for good while he is able.

Shannon Elizabeth

Shannon Elizabeth has described poker as her second career and spends as much time at the table as she does acting these days. Best known for her role as Nadia in the American Pie movies, she has since reached the semi-finals of the NBC Heads-Up Poker Championship in 2007. With more than $200,000 in winnings to her name, she is not one to underestimate at the table.
