Yesterday, the editor-in-chief of Shape magazine called its October issue cover with LeAnn Rimes “a terrible mistake.” The editor sent an email to some Shape readers who had complained about the choice of LeAnn for the cover, apologizing for the choice.
“I don’t want anyone to be unhappy–so I took the time to write a personal note to them, apologizing for not having someone on the cover they wanted to see and hoping to do right by them the next time. (I do this many times for all cover stars and you really can’t ever please everyone all the time,)” she wrote.
Latona continues to stand behind her decision to use Rimes on the cover: “The bottom line is this: I stand by the fact that LeAnn’s story is compelling–and her courage and strength in the face of so much adversity is compelling. That is why I put her on the cover of Shape for what is now the third time.”
Animated. Playful. Hilarious. Talented. Those are the four adjectives I would use to describe Kyle Massey and Lacey Schwimmer, known as Team Schmurgles on Dancing with the Stars.
Kyle and Lacey were at The Grove to speak with Mario Lopez of Extra. Kyle told Mario that he has absolutely no previous dance experience except for “The Jerk.” But thanked Lacey for changing him from “flab to fab!”
Lacey said there are six teams left on DWTS, and said out of those six teams there are three teams they call “Team Underdogs,” teams with Kyle, Bristol Palin and Rick Fox.
Watch the full Extra interview next week!
In the meantime, watch Lacey show Mario how to dance!
And, watch Kyle and Lacey answer fans’ questions and watch the dance move Kyle invented:

LeAnn Rimes looked physically terrific on the cover of Shape magazine but her healthy, fit body was not enough to deter Shape‘s readers from sending in emails to Shape voicing their discontent on the decision to put Rimes on the magazine’s October cover.
Apparently, Shape readers were not happy that someone who has admitted to cheating on her ex-husband (Dean Sheremet with then-married CSI actor Eddie Cibrian) was being praised on the magazine’s cover. They also seem to not have liked the sympathetic tone of the caption: “LeAnn Rimes: How Working Out Saved Me.”
TooFab obtained the email signed by the magazine’s editor-in-chief, Valerie Latona which was sent to the disgruntled readers. The email reads in part:
Please know that our putting [LeAnn Rimes] on the cover was not meant to put a husband-stealer on a pedestal-but to show (through her story) how we all are human. And this woman in particular found strength in exercise in what she said was her most difficult personal moment.
But it did not come across that way … And for that I’m terribly sorry.
Wow: “husband-stealer.” The email doesn’t mince words, does it?
A jury on Thursday convicted Anna Nicole Smith’s psychiatrist and ex-boyfriend of conspiracy in a prescription drug case involving the former Playboy model and reality TV star but acquitted the doctor who prescribed a plethora of drugs for her.
Anna Nicole Smith’s personal physician, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, was just acquitted on charges of illegally funneling prescription meds to the deceased star.
Conan O’Brien has made the cover of the new Rolling Stone and spills his guts inside about how he felt being fired as the Tonight Show host earlier this year.
O’Brien says: “I felt like I’d just been in a car accident.”
His wife Liza Powel chimes in and admits Conan suffered from depression, especially after he completed his Legally Prohibited From Being Funny on Television Tour. Powel says: “Those weeks after the tour, where not much was going on, Conan was miserable. That was when he was the most depressed.”
“There were so many factors at work, such a confluence of change that had to do with so much more than him. The truth is, The Tonight Show was the definition of cultural relevancy for decades. And all of a sudden, it’s not. That’s not Conan’s fault. It’s not anybody’s fault. It just happened. And it’s no longer a show he should be pinning his life’s hopes on hosting.”
Conan also says of that time period: “My wife says those first couple of months, the thing I said most often was, ‘Wait a minute, what just happened?'”

I first met actress Tiya Sircar at a birthday dinner for a mutual friend two years ago. Tiya was charming, sweet, funny and incredibly down to earth – so down to earth in fact that I would never have guessed she is one of Hollywood’s fastest rising stars. Yet, that is exactly who she is: A young actress on the fast track to stardom.
She has played alongside some of Hollywood’s hottest men including Zac Efron (in 17 Again) and Justin Timberlake (in the upcoming Friends with Benefits). And she has completed three feature-length movies which will all come out next year. Tiya currently plays Aimee Bradley alongside Paul Wesley and Ian Somerhalder on The Vampire Diaries.
She also gave me the low down on her upcoming movies, The Lost Medallion: The Adventures of Billy Stone and The Domino Effect, and spilled the beans on what it’s like to play alongside some of Hollywood’s most sought-after leading men.
Even in death, some celebrities make more money per year than most of us dream of making in an entire lifetime. In fact, the top revenue-grossing dead celeb, Michael Jackson, made more money over the past year than any other musician or actor, dead or alive.
Forbes said: “Jackson not only took the No.1 spot on our 10th annual ranking of the Top-Earning Dead Celebrities, with gross earnings of $275 million, he out-earned the other 12 deceased stars on the list combined. Still more impressive: His estate’s 12-month haul was greater than the pooled earnings of this year’s two biggest living acts, U2 and AC/DC. Jackson’s posthumous earnings come from his stake in the lucrative Sony/ATV catalog, the hit Sony film This Is It and renewed fan interest in music, videos and all things Michael Jackson.”
