Howard K. Stern Found Guilty In Anna Nicole Smith Trial

A jury on Thursday convicted Anna Nicole Smith’s psychiatrist and ex-boyfriend of conspiracy in a prescription drug case involving the former Playboy model and reality TV star but acquitted the doctor who prescribed a plethora of drugs for her.  


Howard K. Stern, the former boyfriend, was found guilty on two counts of conspiracy for obtaining medications for Anna Nicole Smith in his own name CNN reports. Dr. Khristine Eroshevich, a psychiatrist who flew down to be at Smith’s side in the Bahamas after her son Daniel’s death in 2006, was also found guilty on a conspiracy charge, as well two other charges related to a Vicodin prescription given to Smith. Stern and Eroshevich are free pending an appeal. 

Los Angeles County Superior Judge Robert Perry has set sentencing for January 6, 2011. Both Stern and Eroshevich face up to three years each in prison.. After the hearing, Stern said, “Everything related to the
appropriateness of the medication, I was acquitted of.”

Anna Nicole Smith’s personal physician, Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, was just acquitted on charges of illegally funneling prescription meds to the deceased star.
