After 33 years on CBS’ 60 Minutes, Andy Rooney has said goodbye and left the building. For good.
The venerable 92 year-old commentator aired his last segment Sunday, talking about his life and career and how fortunate he’s been throughout his illustrious life. “Of all the things I have complained, I cannot complain about my life.”
“When I went on television, it was as a writer…I probably haven’t said anything here that you already didn’t know, or hadn’t thought. There aren’t too many original thoughts in the world. A writer’s job is to tell the truth,” said Rooney. I have always hoped that people will like what I have written. Being liked, is nice, but that is not my intent.” He continued, “I believe that if all the truths were known about everything in the world, it would be a better place to live.”
“This is a moment I have dreaded and I wish I could do this forever. I can’t though….And I don’t always say this, but, ‘Thank you.’ “
Everyone confirms: Arrested Development is coming back as a movie and in more TV episodes!
“It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie,” Jason Bateman Tweeted today, explaining: “Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!”
At a panel at the New Yorker Festival also held today, the show’s creator, Mitch Hurwitz, announced that he’s hoping to produce ten new episodes which would air before the movie is released. Each of the episodes will feature one main character who will get the audience up to speed on where he/she has been the last few years–since the show went off the air in 2006.
Will Arnett also took to Twitter about the good news: “I’m peeing with @batemanjason at the moment.” Arnett continued, “We can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie.”
SPOTTED: Kelly Osbourne at The Grove for an interview with Mario Lopez of Extra September 30, 2011.

Looks like Russell Brand needs a good immigration lawyer.
First, he was deported from Japan in May when he flew all the way there to watch wife Katy Perry perform. Now, he’s been denied entry into Canada. The British comedian is postponing his comedy show in Canada because the immigration officers refused to let him into the country Saturday.
Brand Tweeted while still on route to Canada, “HELP! I’m gonna be late for Casino Rama show unless someone can force Canadian customs officials to let us land in Orillia!”
Brand followed up with, “How do you manipulate customs officials? Wasn’t Hitler’s father a customs officer? I’m pretty sure he was.”
Brand then got desperate: “Let me in! I must perform at Casino Rama, Orillia tonight at 9 for 5,000 Canadians.”
Finally accepting defeat, the funny man Tweeted, “Tonight’s Casino Rama show postponed. I’m sorry. I can’t enter Canada. We must abolish the borders between our nations AND our minds.”
Reasons for the denial are unknown. But seriously, I thought ANYONE could enter Canada, no?
The Amazing Race October 2, 2011 sent home two teams for the first time in the show’s history. The teams traveled from Taiwan going to Indonesia for this episode titled “The Sprint of Our Life”.
Last week, Bill and Cathi arrived at the pit stop last. Since they were not eliminated, they had to perform a speed bump. For this challenge, they had to untie knots from a rappelling rope in order to continue the Road Block. The teams had to go down 160 feet into Jomblang Cave and search in the dark for a Javanese mask and dagger for their next clue.
Below are the spoiler live blogging results of who was eliminated:
