‘Arrested Development’ To Return As A Movie And A TV Series

Everyone confirms: Arrested Development is coming back as a movie and in more TV episodes!

“It’s true. We will do 10 episodes and the movie,” Jason Bateman Tweeted today, explaining: “Probably shoot them all together next summer for a release in early ’13. VERY excited!”

At a panel at the New Yorker Festival also held today, the show’s creator, Mitch Hurwitz, announced that he’s hoping to produce ten new episodes which would air before the movie is released. Each of the episodes will feature one main character who will get the audience up to speed on where he/she has been the last few years–since the show went off the air in 2006.

Will Arnett also took to Twitter about the good news: “I’m peeing with @batemanjason at the moment.” Arnett continued, “We can confirm that we are going to make new AD eps and a movie.”

The apes are surprisingly running wild at the box office. Rise of the Planet of the Apes, the primate prequel starring James Francoand featuring an impressive motion-capture performance by Andy Serkis, opened in first place with ticket sales totaling $54 million.

In second place, The Smurfs, brought in another $21.0 million in its second week but that is a 41 percent drop from last week’s surprise smash opening.
Cowboys & Aliens came in third with an estimated $15.7 million, down 57 percent from last week.  Continue reading

VIDEO: Jennifer Aniston Gets Hand & Footprints Cemented At Grauman’s Chinese Theatre

Jennifer Aniston received an honor which only a few actors get to achieve: She had her hand and footprints immortalized at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre Thursday.

And, of course, Justin Theroux was there to support his lovely new GF.

Her new BFF Chelsea Handler and Horrible Bosses co-star Jason Bateman were there as well. But where was Courteney Cox?

Handler made a joke that her friends growing up in New Jersey did not look like Aniston: “All my neighbors looked more like Snooki!” Aniston returned the favor by asking the crowd what her BFF was doing on Hollywood Boulevard before 10 a.m. without a bail bondsman.

Watch the ceremony and an interview with Aniston below:

The Switch W/Jennifer Aniston And Jason Bateman – MOVIE REVIEW

MOVIE REVIEW: THE SWITCH.

I was very much looking forward to seeing The Switch because I am a huge fan of Jason Bateman and of course, Jennifer Aniston.

After hearing all of the bad reviews, I was scared to see this movie. But, I am here to tell you that I did see The Switch tonight and despite the chatter, this movie does not suck.

It actually will make you laugh at times and tear up at others. Any movie that can playfully and artfully make you laugh and tear up, is A-OK in my book.

I would categorize the movie as a heartfelt and some-what romantic comedy – but the focus is not so much on the love between a man and a woman as it is about the development of love between a father and a son.  Bateman and newcomer Thomas Robinson who plays Bateman’s 6-year old son steal the movie.  Their relationship is so adorable, charming, and touching, you just want to hug them both; for different reasons of course 😉

I liked it.

Here is a trailer in case you have not seen it:
