Angelina Jolie at Salt Premiere with Brad Pitt [Video]

Did you know that originally Tom Cruise was going to play Angelina Jolie’s part on the action-thriller, Salt?

That probably is the first time a woman has won an action role created with a man in mind. That’s how kick-ass Angelina is.

Kick-ass yet glamorous that is.

Angelina arrived at the Salt premiere last night, held at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater, hand in hand with the just-as-beautiful-and-glamorous-and-recently-clean-shaven-thank-God Brad Pitt.

Angelina Talks Salt!

Jolie was dressed in black strapless beaded cocktail minidress from Emporio Armani and sported Ferragamo shoes.

Salt is set for nationwide release July 23, 2010. For my review of Salt, click here.

Salt director Phillip Noyce told E! what he thought of changing the already penned male lead to female. “Well, Tom [Cruise] was never signed, but he was really thinking about it. We needed a start date, so we needed an actor. Amy Pascal, head of Sony Pictures, said ‘Let’s send it to Angelina.’ It seemed for a moment to be an outrageous idea! Then I thought about it and realized it only had pluses.”

Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told E!:

“It’s true that Amy Pascal had joked to [Angelina] about her being a Bond Girl one day and Angelina really said, ‘No I don’t want to be a Bond Girl. I want to be Bond.’ When it didn’t work out with Tom, this seemed like the movie to give her that shot. They’ve been talking about this notion for a while.”

Bret Michaels Hilarious PSA For Groupie Love & Do Something Awards [Video]

VIDEO CLIP OF THE DAY.

Bret Michaels is quickly becoming my favorite musician, and I am not even speaking about his music. First, he won me over with his stint on The Celebrity Apprentice where he showcased his exemplary work ethic, unending kindness, and impressive yet totally-hot mental prowess.

Then, he won over all of America with his physical strength, overcoming a series of life-threatening ailments. Now, he is highlighting his sense of humor with his hilarious PSA for The Do Something Awards.

The PSA addresses ” Groupies” and Bret asks, “Groupies. We love them all, and they love us right back. But What happens when they get too old for the gig?” Bret continues, “It’s horrifying; heart-breaking.”

Bret, after watching this video, I think I just may have fallen in love with you. Maybe you should send me info on Groupie Love, because I will need to enroll in a few years.

VH1’s The Do Something Awards use the “power of online, to get teens to do good stuff offline.”  And, they claim they are about to rock social change. The Do Something Awards honor the best young world-changers, 25 and under, that are making the world a better place. They truly represent the pivotal doers in their field, cause or issue. And this year, they are getting the credit they deserve!

Wesley Snipes Will Serve 3 Years In Prison For Tax Evasion-Appeal Denied

Looks like another celebrity is heading to jail soon.  In 2008, Wesley Snipes was found guilty of tax evasion for failing to file a tax return for several years, owing the government $12 million dollars.

Snipes appealed the sentencing as being “unreasonable” and has been out on bond since the appeal. But a federal appeals court denied Snipe’s appeal on Friday, meaning Snipes will now have to serve the previously-ordered 36-month prison term.

Sounds like a harsh sentence. But if there is one thing every American should know is that one can’t mess with Uncle Sam when it comes to taxes. They will know if you owe them, they will know where to find you, and they will make you pay sooner or later. All of this holds especially true if you are famous and don’t file a return. So, we all might as well pay sooner and avoid the slammer.

UPDATE 7/21. Federal prosecutors asked a judge today to revoke bail for Snipes and order him to enter prison immediately.  “There is no good reason to delay his surrender,” prosecutors argued in a motion to revoke Snipes’ bail, according to court records. A hearing on the motion is pending.

Steve Carell And Chili’s Make Parody of LeBron James’ The Decision [Video]

VIDEO CLIP OF THE DAY.

Looks like everyone is making a parody of LeBron James’ “The Decision,”the hour-long live ESPN press conference/announcement LeBron scheduled to tell the world of his decision to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat.
John Mayer’s video attempt poking fun of LeBron was not funny. Steve Carell and Paul Rudd, on the other hand, did a fantastic job making a parody of the same for this year’s ESPY Awards.

What made Carell and Rudd’s version even funnier, is that the restaurant chain, Chili’s, joined in for the fun and reacted to the fake slighting it received by Carell.

Chili’s posted a disgruntled open letter on Chili’s Facebook page, very much like the open letter that Dan Gilbert, the Cavalier’s majority owner, posted on the Cavalier’s site in response to “The Decision.” The letter posted by Gilbert cost his team a $100,000 fine by the NBA. Chili’s on the other hand is receiving lots of publicity for theirs.

Chili’s President, Wyman T. Roberts writes in his letter: “Steve Carell’s shameful display of selfishness and betrayal has shifted our ‘motivation’ to previously unknown and previously never experienced levels,” Roberts continued. “His heartless and callous actions will only fuel our constant search for freshness and flavor.  This shocking act of disloyalty from our homegrown ‘funny man’ sends the exact opposite flavor of what we would want our children to taste. And ‘where’ we would want them to go out and eat.”

Good stuff. Actually, great stuff. Wonder if anyone else will try to top Carell and Chili’s.

Amy Ryan Returns To The Office

BREAKING CELEBRITY NEWS.

We all know by now that Steve Carell is leaving The Office after this upcoming season. This departure will be a huge blow to the show as this show is extremely ensemble-cast-centric and I believe any changes will hurt the dynamics tremendously. But let’s hope I am wrong.

So, I’ve been thinking: The only thing that will make Carell’s  departure any less painful on loyal fans such as myself is if Carell’s character, Michael Scott, leaves Dunder Mifflin because he has finally found true love and pursues his heart somewhere outside of Scranton.
Well, looks like the show’s producers have read my mind and are bringing Amy Ryan back next season for eight episodes! Amy played Holly Flax, Michael Scott’s love interest in season 5 and gave the character Holly an openness and innocence which in turn exposed a new, more sensitive and sweet side of Michael Scott. Holly ended up breaking Michael’s heart when she transferred out of the state at the end of that season.
However, last season’s finale showed Jo (Kathy Bates) promising Michael that she would look into transferring Holly back to the Scranton branch. And looks like Jo has delivered on her promise! This is OMG! stuff–I can’t wait until the season premier in September, and can only hope that Holly and Michael end up together, happily ever after.

Ryan Seacrest Talks Julianne Hough And Larry King Live [Video]

This is why I love Ryan Seacrest.

Upon arriving at LAX after a vacation with girlfriend Julianne Hough, Ryan takes time to meet fans and answer questions regarding Julianne, Larry King Live, and American Idol.

He continues to take pictures with fans despite his car waiting to take him home or probably to work since he is entertainment‘s hardest workaholic.

Glad you are well rested Mr. Seacrest. You’re going to have to carry Idol this year! And I think you will be great.
