LIVE SHOW RECAP:

And, we’re live! Refresh page often for latest updates!

The Over 25s in LA Reid’s category are up first. On hand are guest mentors, Justin Beiber and his manager, Scooter Braun.

PERFORMANCES – OVER 25:

1. Jason Brock sings “Big Girls Don’t Cry” by Fergie. Mentors say it was an extremely strong vocal performance, but they just can’t see him as the total package. Justin asked, “is that the one?” LA answered, “Hold that thought!”

2. David Correy sings a slowed-down version of “Domino” by Jessie J. Justin thought David is great in vocals ability and has star power. LA got the chills! Scooter said he saw pure passion and that is rare these days. My guess is David goes through for sure.

3. Daryl Black sings “She’s Gone” by Hall and Oates. Scooter says Daryl has a “special voice” and could see him in a band. LA was not impressed and didn’t find anything unique in Daryl. Justin said he gave a “strong” performance but not sure if he’d sign a $5 million check to him.

4. Tate Stevens sang “Back at One” by Brian McKnight. Justin said Tate is “charismatic”. Scooter agreed and said Tate is likeable. LA liked his song choice but he and Justin are not sure Tate is a $5 million winner.

5. Vino Alan sang “Sober” by Pink. Scooter noticed Vino’s nerves and said Vino was petrified but thought he still delivered. Justin said he could really feel the emotion. LA liked the vocals but is not sure he sees a total package in Vino. You know, LA just doesn’t like the artists in this category and is bitter! Vino killed it.

6. Tara Simon sang “The Reason” by Hoobastank. But before that, she was annoying all the contestants. She said to the camera, she’s always been a star but America is just catching on. She also said she’s going to make X Factor a lot of money. Justin and Scooter both think Tara has a “big voice” but Justin thinks she over sang some parts and should have toned things down and had the “sweet moments”. I agree Bieber! But Tara was super happy with her “near perfect” performance and did the happy dance!

That’s it for Reid’s team. Next up, the Teens. Britney has the help of will.i.am.

PERFORMANCES – TEEN:

1. Diamond White sings “I’m With You” by Avril Lavigne. Will.i.am said she “sings amazing” but wiggles too much. Britney agreed. The other contestants who could hear Diamond sing all thought he was amazing and flawless. Reed even asked, “How do you compete with that?”

2. Reed Deming sang “Hey There, Delilah” by Plain White T’s. Britney noticed that Reed’s nerves caused him to not perform as best as ha is capable of doing. Will.i.am thinks Reed can improve with mentoring.

3. James Tanner sings “Party Like a Rockstar” by Shop Boyz. Britney said James was very entertaining but just doesn’t think his performance was “strong enough.”

4. Arin Ray sang “Starships” by Nicki Minaj. Will.i.am saw potential in Arin and said he has something special. He and Brit think he needs to work more on his vocals.

5. Beatrice Miller sang “Titanium” by David Guetta ft. Sia. Will.i.am said it was “fresh”. Brit agreed but also thinks she should learn to control her voice better.

6. Carly Rose Sonenclar sang “Brokenhearted” by Karmin. Will.i.am and Britney thought her voice is so big for such a small girl that she must be possessed. Brit likes her talent but wonders if she can handle the pressures of the competition.

That’s it for tonight! Come back to CelebMagnet next Wednesday at 8PM EST to find out which sixteen contestants are chosen by their mentors to move on to the first live show!

  1. Out of the Over 25 group my favorite was definitely David Correy. Every song he sings is soulful and from the heart. It’s like he reaches way down and then pours everything out. People like this is the reason why I’ve got my Hopper timers set to record the entire season of X Factor and with plenty of recording space, I don’t have to rush through watching anything I’ve already recorded. Out of the Teens group I really liked Diamond and Reed. They are so charismatic and full of energy that it really shines through anything they perform. My DISH co-worker really likes Beatrice Miller because she can really belt it out. She’s got a really big voice and she knows her abilities which show when she performs. I’m just not sure that she is worth $5,000,000.
