We may not have had any nipple slippage or wardrobe malfunction during the Super Bowl halftime show Sunday, but we did have our share of controversy.
Rapper M.I.A. was one of the many performers who joined Madonna and Nicki Minaj on stage for a rendition of Give Me All Your Luvin – and luvin was what M.I.A. did not give the NBC cameras.
Oh ya, if you saw it, your eyes weren’t lying to you. M.I.A. sure flipped the bird on camera. Yes, she gave all of us the middle finger.
The NFL was fast to respond: “There was a failure in NBC’s delay system. The obscene gesture in the performance was completely inappropriate, very disappointing, and we apologize to our fans.”
NBC chimed in as well: “The NFL hired the talent and produced the halftime show. Our system was late to obscure the inappropriate gesture and we apologize to our viewers.”
Never a dull moment. Congrats to the NY Giants (it pains me to write that as a die-hard Cowboys fan.)
