Reese Witherspoon: Divorce Was Traumatic, Am Lucky To Be Re-Married

Before Reese Witherspoon was involved in an accident Wednesday, she talked to Marie Claire about the traumatic time in her life when she underwent a divorce from Ryan Phillippe and had to be a single mother for 5 years.

“I was hard on myself when I got divorced. And until I got remarried, I don’t think I realized how stressed I was. I feel so much relief. I don’t think I recognized how anxious I was about being a single parent. It was really, really stressful. It’s not easy on anybody.”

Reese feels very lucky for having met and then married Hollywood talent agent Jim Toth in March because she was warned that she would never be able to remarry having had two kids.

“You know, somebody close to me once said, “Oh, no man will ever accept your children.’ And I just thought it was the most horrifying thing someone has ever said to me in my entire life,” says Reese.

“I was determined to find someone who would make that not true. And I got lucky. I did. I got very lucky, and he’s wonderful. And so wonderful with the children. I’m very blessed.”

Reese Witherspoon Hit By Car While Jogging

Reese Witherspoon was struck by a car on Wednesday afternoon while jogging near her home in Santa Monica, CA. Thankfully, Reese’s rep told People that the actress was not seriously injured and that she is “resting comfortably at home” after receiving treatment at a hospital.

According to reports, police responded to a 911 call placed at 11:14 a.m. about a pedestrian being hit by car. The driver of the car was an 84-year-old woman who received a citation for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.

Robert Pattinson Drops The Mother Of F Bombs On MTV Movie Awards

Robert Pattinson dropped the mother of f bombs during a tribute to his Water for Elephants co-star Reese Witherspoon at the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday. And the censors were not quick enough!

Witherspoon was receiving the Generation Award and Pattinson told the story of the first time he had worked with Witherspoon.
Pattinson started: “I don’t know if everyone knows, but I did my first movie with you. Called Vanity Fair, and you played my mother. What I later learned though was that you were directly responsible for cutting my part of the movie.” Witherspoon shook her head and mouthed ‘not true’ in the audience.  He continued: “Seven years later, we worked together in a movie called Water for Elephants. And this time you played my lover. I didn’t cut you out. But I did f*ck you.”
“Reese, working with you twice and not getting cut out once was such a special experience but if there’s one thing I’ll take with me. As you get older, it’s not always a bad thing to have sexual chemistry with your mother. Congratulations.”

Witherspoon hit Pattinson right back. During her acceptance speech, she said: “By the way Rob, the punchline to your joke was I played your mother. We had a sex scene. So really you’re the best motherf**ker in Hollywood.” The censors were way more prepared this time.

How Did Robert Pattinson’s Water For Elephants Do At The Box Office?

Update 5/22: To see the latest Box Office Sales for Water for Elephants, click here.
Robert Pattinson brings in moviegoers by the millions for the Twilight series, but does he have Box Office draw when starring opposite a leading actress not named Kristen Stewart? Well, looks like he can do pretty darn well even without his life partner by his side in a movie.

Pattinson and co-star Reese WitherspoonWater for Elephants premiered this weekend and the $40 million romantic drama, based on Sara Gruen’s novel, has already raked in an estimated $17.5 million – an amount much higher than expected for its genre.

“Adult films usually don’t sprint out of the gate. We did,” Fox executive Bert Livingston told eOnline. “I think being on bestseller list twice helped.”

Before you credit his co-star Witherspoon with the draw, remember, her How Do You Know lost a ton of money in 2010. The film had cost $120 million to make but only grossed less than $50 million worldwide. So, looks like Pattinson may actually have a career once the Twilight movies come to a close…

Here’s how the other movies did at the Box Office Friday-Sunday (April 22- 24, 2011):

Rio, $26.8 million
Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family, $25.8 million
Water for Elephants, $17.5 million
Hop, $12.5 million
Scream 4, $7.2 million
African Cats, $6.4 million
Soul Surfer, $5.6 million
Insidious, $5.4 million
Hanna, $5.3 million
Source Code, $5.1 million
