VIDEO: Chaz Bono Pleasantly Surprises On DWTS

Dancing With The Stars season 13 was back in full swing for its premiere September 19, 2011. Dancing last were much anticipated author and activist Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer, doing the Cha Cha Cha. I’ll admit, I had my reservations about Chaz being on this show, however, he quickly won me over with his charm and childlike qualities. I mean, how can I not root for a self-proclaimed overweight 40+ year old trying to learn how to dance?

Carrie Ann said people had been waiting all night to watch Chaz dance and he did not disappoint. She said he had so much joy and lit up the room. Score: 6
Len called him razzmatazz Chaz and said he enjoyed himself and had good footwork and great attitude. Score: 5
Bruno called him cheeky but so cuddly and cute. He said Chaz was joyous and it was a great debut and Chaz should be proud. Score: 6
Total scores: 6+5+6 = 17/30

SPOTTED: DWTS’ David Arquette & Kym Johnson (Photos)

David Arquette and Kym Johnson started the 13th season premiere of Dancing with the Stars with a Vienne Waltz. They chatted up with Maria Menounos of Extra last week at The Grove and David told her that he is “sore all over” from the six-hour a day workouts.

Kym said David is very “graceful on the dance floor,” and David quipped back, “Who knew?” Continue reading

Mark Ballas & Pia Toscano Call It Quits

Another reality show romance made in TV heaven bites the dust. American Idol‘s Pia Toscano and Dancing with the StarsMark Ballas who met on the CBS lot where both shows are taped have called it quits.

“They both decided with everything going on that they couldn’t give each other what would be fair,” a source told People. “They mutually decided this.”

Ballas is paired with Kristin Cavallari on the upcoming season of DWTS and rumors are already floating that the pro dancer dumped Toscano for the newly-single Cavallari.

Ballas of course has downplayed any potential romance between him and his dancing partner. “No, none of that,” he told E! News recently. “We’re just friends.”

‘Dancing With The Stars’ Rumor Mill In Full Spin: Ricki Lake Is Injured!

The rumor around town Los Angeles Thursday September 8, 2011 was that Dancing with the Stars season 13 had claimed its first victim, Ricki Lake. The exact rumor? That Lake was taken to the hospital after a bad fall.

It turns out, that medics were in fact called to the DWTS rehearsal studios, but, Lake had only suffered a minor injury, if you can call a small scrape and bruise an injury that is.
Lake took to her Twitter to send a picture of her injured leg with the caption, “Look, my first injury… Don’t ask how it happened!”

“Not sure how my bruise turned into a medic showing up? I’m fine!! :)” she added a few hours later. She then gave a shout out to one of last year’s finalists, Kirstie Alley: “@kirstiealley I’ve got my work cut out for me. Channeling ya’ mama. xo”

So, how’d the injury happen? It’s not how partner Derek Hough joked, “I kicked her!” Lake explained to photographers herself, “I injured myself yesterday by hitting my heel into my shin … I’m fine.”

Dancing with the Stars contestant Chaz Bono, the show’s first transgender contestant, does not seem bothered by all of the controversy surrounding the show’s choice of casting him.

On the contrary, Bono is already enjoying his gig on the show. On the third day of rehearsals, he Tweeted this pic of himself and his dancing partner Lacey Schwimmer with the caption, “Me and Lacey chilling before rehearsal.”
Time will only tell how good Bono will perform on the show which is set to premiere September 19, 2011.

Rob Kardashian: My Mama Made Me Do It!

Rob Kardashian enjoys being the most low key member of his famous reality family. But then, we learned Monday that he will be part of this season’s Dancing with the Stars.

Now, why would a spotlight-shy guy take part in the highest rated TV show? Simple. His agent mama made him do it!

The 24 year-old reality star told Life & Style magazine: “I’m actually shocked that I’m doing it – I’m very low-key and really don’t like being in the spotlight, but my mom [Kris Jenner] forced me. That’s the real reason I’m doing it!” Continue reading
