Elisabetta Canalis: “Maybe Dance Isn’t My Thing”

Elisabetta Canalis became the second contestant voted off of Dancing with the Stars yesterday but she wasn’t surprised by the results.

“Maybe dance isn’t my thing. I’m not going to lie,” the Italian actress and best known in the US as George Clooney’s ex told People mag after being eliminated Tuesday night.

“This show was challenging for me because I had to learn how to ballroom dance.”

“I’ve never done it before. I hope to have learned something.”

Val Chmerkovskiy, Elisabetta’s dance partner said, “They are a lot of challenges for everybody. There were huge challenges for her. We’re a proud nation.”

Val pointed to our unfamiliarity with Elisabetta and Val who was new to DWTS as the reason for the couple’s early departure. “We’re a welcoming nation, but [Americans] have our idols and our own fan base. This show is about people and fans. We can’t compete with that.”

“Yesterday, we did [well],” he said. “But unfortunately they gave our score to five other couples. That killed all of our chances [of staying on the show].”

VIDEO: Nancy Grace Survives Wardrobe Malfunction On DWTS!

Dancing with the Stars had its first wardrobe malfunction of the season and it involved Nancy Grace on the September 26, 2011 episode. The 51-year old HLN host showed off a little more than she hoped at the end of her Quickstep dance number with partner Tristan MacManus when her chest popped out of her dress.

The cameras cut away to a random audience shot (which seemed like stock footage as no one was clapping) at the time of the nip slippage and Grace took the time to reshuffle things as needed before the camera shot back at her burying her face into MacManus’ chest. Host Tom Bergeron quipped, “That’s alright! On the European version that would be perfectly fine.”

Judge Len Goodman said of the performance, “How refreshing!” he continued, “That was a proper quickstep. Well done!” Bruno Tonioli called it a “bit top heavy,” and said he “got an eyeful!” Mary Ann Inaba said she saw definite improvement in her dance.

Kardashian Sisters Say Dancing With The Stars Is Rigged!

When Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke were not immediately declared safe but put in jeopardy this week on their first performance on Dancing with the Stars, Rob’s famous sisters started crying foul! And they blamed two things: The show for being rigged and Elisabetta Canalis for being safe!

Kourtney Kardashian, 32, tweeted: “There is NO way Rob Kardashian was trending worldwide last night and in the bottom 3. Impossible!” And, “HOW IS ELISABETTA SAFE?!??! HOW?! Seriously!!!”

Khloe Kardashian, 27, who interrupted judge Bruno Tonioli during his critique of Rob, Tweeted, “Agreed. So odd.” But, if you think about it, it’s actually not that odd. It is true that Elisabetta and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy received the second lowest judges’ scores, but, Rob only fared one extra point more. And, I guess America liked Elisabetta’s performance better than Rob’s.

Khloe then blamed DWTS: “Shows are rigged all the time.”

So she would not be out done by her sisters, Kim Kardashian also chimed in on Twitter:  “Rob in the bottom three is impossible! He did soooo good!”

Kourtney later wrote: “Honestly, I didn’t think any one of those people should have been in the bottom three. I just can’t handle this stuff. I’m so stressed out!” While Kourtney added: “Even though I’m beyond thrilled my brother is SAFE, I’m sad that Ron was first to go. He didn’t deserve it.”

Rob took the high road by simply thanking his fans: “Just wanted to say thanks for all of your support last night for everyone who voted! Means so much! LOVE YOU! #LEGGGGOOOO”

VIDEO: Rob Kardashian Cleaned Up Like A Debonair For DWTS

Dancing With The Stars season 13 was back in full swing for its premiere September 19, 2011.Reality TV star Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke danced the Viennese Waltz as sisters Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney and bro in law Lamar Odom watched on. Kris and Bruce Jenner were also there. Rob said he is doing DWTS because he wants to come out from under his famous sisters’ shadow. He was a bit stiff on the dance floor, but his adorable factor made up for it. I look forward to his next routine.

Bruno said Rob looked petrified and he needs to relax.  He also said he felt no musicality at all and needs to take control. Of course Khloe yelled something about wax between Bruno’s ears and that she felt the music. Score: 5
Carrie Ann said she saw potential when watching him dance and called him debonair– “You clean up nice”.  Score: 6
Len said he’s not impressed, but he’s not depressed either by the performance. He said Rob was too careful and thinking about all the instructions. He told him instead of worrying if he’s good or not, “Go out fighting, but just come out and dance!”  Score: 5
Total score: 6+5+5 = Total: 16/30

Hope Solo & Maks Chmerkovskiy Were Connected Like Glue On DWTS

Dancing With The Stars season 13 was back in full swing for its premiere September 19, 2011. Olympic gold medalist and World Cup star Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy danced the Viennese Waltz to The Dave Matthews Band Satellite. She looked beautiful in her pink ballroom gown but to me, she lacked fluidity and seemed a bit too stiff. The judges disagreed!
Bruno said she has a bright future in front of her because she had great attack and musicality. She just needs more control in her lines. Score: 7
Carrie Ann said that the body contact and the hold were impressive and they were connected like glue. She said be aware of muscling. She liked her lines and called them gorgeous. Score: 7
Len said she had good hold and good posture, but she has to get more fluidity and femininity in her movement. Score: 7
Total score: 7+7+7 = Total: 21/30
