Lady Gaga is one celeb who has so far eluded an encounter with me. Word on the street, literally the street I live on, is that the lady phenom used to live in my complex. Andy Grammer Just Murdered The Roxy!

One of my favorite people and musicians in Los Angeles just signed a record deal with S-Curve. SO, congratulations Andy Grammer!

I have known Andy for a few years; we met because we are both Baha’is. I fell in love with this friend because he is one of the kindest, funniest, and most sincere people I know. I fell in love with his music because nothing else moves me the same way or makes me as happy. So, I couldn’t be more thrilled for him about his new success. As a thank you to his local fans, Andy played at the legendary Roxy Theater (The Roxy) tonight located on the famous Sunset Strip. Andy played a full set of songs off of his upcoming CD and was accompanied by a full band including an entire horns section. Andy is originally from New York, so it’s no wonder that the final selection of the night was Andy’s original, The Pocket mixed with a titillating rendition of Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ Empire State of Mind; the melodic mix coupled with the raw emotions that only a true New Yorker can deliver, left the entire crowd not only begging for an encore, but with goosebumps as well, each the size of the Big Apple. The capacity crowd included fans of all ages including hundreds of screaming teenage girls. If the energy in that club tonight is any indication, Andy’s music will be rocking all the way to the top of the charts in the imminent future. Keep a look out for his single Keep Your Head Up to hit your local radio stations soon. The Stars, They Aligned So perfectly Today…Jon Bon Jovi & American Idol

My dog, Jovi, woke me up way too early today. She seemed anxious. MAYBE just maybe she knew today was going to turn out to be a most special day, for me. I had no such clue. So, I dragged out of bed and got the day reluctantly started. After walking my pesty alarm clock, Jovi, I went about my errands a bit earlier and much sleepier than I should have been. The day was kind of dully routine, until my friend Roanne texted me about 2 PM to tell me that my favorite band, Bon Jovi was performing on American Idol. How had this fact avoided me? My favorite show and my favorite band were colliding within walking distance of my house in a matter of a mere hours and I did NOT know about it?? Had I finally lost my mind? Maybe last night’s Lost episode finally sent me over the edge? Alas, I digress.

Back to today. I at once abandoned the task at hand, whatever it was, and drove home, changed into the proper “Idol attire” and ran over to CBS Studios from where American Idol is broadcast. By the time I got there, the line of ticket holders seemed endless. There was no way I could get in through “standby”. THE ONLY way would be to find someone with an extra ticket–the likelihood of which seemed impossible with only 3 hours before curtain call. I repeated over and over again as I walked alongside this line of ticket holders, “Anyone have an extra ticket?” Everyone looked at me with sympathetic eyes and shook their heads, no.  No. No. Everyone, except for one of the last people in the line. She said, “I do!” I looked at her incredulously. “You do?” I asked. “I sure do.” And just like that, I was able to walk into American Idol with me new friend Regina.

Fantasia opened the show, Daughtry was next to perform. But of course Idol saved the best for the last, MY Jon. And his friends, Richie, Tico, David and some white hair dude that I refuse to acknowledge as part of the band though he’s been playing with them forever–since they kicked out Alec. They performed Superman..and as Jon was singing to me and only me,”I won’t lie I wish that I..could be your superman tonight.” I was thinking, “Oh silly Jon, don’t you by now KNOW you don’t have to ask me. I mean, after all, I named my dog after you.”

If you watch this episode, you can clearly hear me scream “I love you guys” post performance. I wanted to yell “I love you Jon”, but didn’t wanna hurt his friends’ feelings 😉

Today, was a good day. Today was actually a perfect day. This picture was not taken today, but you should really look at a post I will eventually write (search “Bon Jovi”) because this picture comes with a really cool story…of course.

Jonas Brothers At The Grove…FREE FREE FREE

What could possibly be bigger than Paul, John and Ringo?? Well, how about Kevin, Nick and Joe, best known collectively as Jonas Brothers. What would be even bigger is a free concert by Jonas Brothers, and amazingly so, that is EXACTLY what will happen Saturday, May 15th at The Grove. So, if you’re a fan, or the parent of a teenage daughter, be sure to mark your calendars and be at The Grove by 3 PM this Saturday. This will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to see Jonas Brothers, up close and personal, kicking-off their summer tour with the help of some “very special guests”. My So-Called Date With Chad Ocho Cinco

  I never really cared about the on-field antics of Chad Ocho Cinco. Then, my friend Dave suggested I add Chad on Twitter and I started to see Chad in a whole new light.

Chad’s Tweets are not only off-the-charts hilarious, they also dispel the gossip and give a great perspective on who this man really is; a caring, generous human being. So, after a few Tweets, I decided I had to meet this man of mystery.

My mission was made extremely easy as this crazy cat loves to take his friends out on group adventures. And I use the term “friend” very loosely. You see, Chad has almost a million followers on Twitter, and every once in a while, he will send out a Tweet, inviting his Twitter “friends” on various escapades and trips, all on his tab.

While he has been taping Dancing with the Stars in LA, Ocho invited the first 100 of his Twitter friends that showed up to a group movie date! So, I went. And 167 other people showed up. Chad showed up right at the allotted time and place and greeted everyone individually. Instead of turning away the people over 100th in line, Chad unflinchingly purchased movie tickets for one and all of 168 of us. He also bought us all popcorn, hot dogs, and drinks. Two weeks later, he did it all over again, this time, inviting the first 200 of his friends. I went on both Fridays and will never forget my “dates” with Ocho. The movies we saw? Why did I get Married Too and Death at A Funeral. You should totally add him on Twitter because you never know what Chad will be in the mood for when he visits your town. Chad’s Twitter name is “OGOchoCinco”.

I Danced With Ellen DeGeneres

  Ever since I got to LA in 2008, I have tried to get audience tickets to the Ellen DeGeneres Show. That show and Dancing with the Stars seem to be the hardest tickets to get in town. About two months ago, I was finally able to register for tickets for today’s taping. Lucky for my mom, she happened to be in town, so, I took her and two friends and on we went.

At the appointed hour, they let us into the Warner Brother’s Studio where the show is taped and lined us up in “The Ellen Store” where they sell all kinds of Ellen merchandise. While we waited, we could hear the guest musician practice inside the actual studio next door. Once inside, we were greeted by the “warm up guy” who was pretty funny, handing out free Ellen t-shirts. He also had us all up on our feet dancing for a long time–it felt like a fun happy club atmosphere. Then with a few minutes left before the start of taping, Ellen herself came out and the audience erupted in deafening applause. She is truly adored by her fans. Who can blame us? She’s funny and has the kindest heart.

Once the show started taping, it was pure joy and the time flew by as if the whole thing were only15 minutes long. The guests that day were Kiefer Sutherland and some guitar playing whiz kid–pretty mundane if you ask me. But it didn’t dampen my mood; it was Ellen I was there to see and she did not disappoint.

One of the best parts of the day was Ellen surprising the audience by giving each of us a brand new Canon digital camera! Purple for the women and Black for the few men around. PERFECT gift for a blogger of course! She must have known I was coming!

There was a bit of a scare during the taping. The girl sitting immediately behind me went into epileptic convulsions during a commercial break and eventually passed out. There was a frenzy going on and no one on staff seemed to know what to do. Luckily, there was a nurse in the audience who came over to her and tended to the girl and took her outside. Even Ellen herself came up to make sure the girl was OK – Ellen is awesome that way.

And now, on to the most amazing part of today: For the past three months or so, I have become a real believer in visualization techniques. As in: think it, visualize it in your mind, and it will become real. And, it;s been working for me.  And for the past month, I kept telling everyone, I was going to dance with Ellen on her show. And believed it would happen. Everyone laughed it off…but it was me who had the last laugh.  As you may know, Ellen likes to dance with her audience every day and today, wouldn’t you know it; she danced right up to my seat, stopped, and danced with me for a few seconds 🙂  I am the girl in the crazy electric blue shirt 😉 and couldn’t have been happier. Thank you Ellen for the camera and thank you for dancing with me.

What is Azamat of Borat (Ken Davitian) Up To Lately?

CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER.

  You have seen him in Get Smart and Soul Men. You’ve also seen him in countless TV shows including SNL, Ghost Whisperer and ER. But you know him best from his comedic breakthrough role on Borat as the ever lovable and completely too-naked sidekick, Azamat. Yes, he is the one and only Ken Davitian. I met Ken at the opening night of Chicago, the musical, playing at Pantages Theater, in Hollywood. I walked up to Ken during intermission and said, “Mr. Davitian.” He turned around and sweetly asked, “You know my name?” Of course Ken, of course. After all, I know everyone I have seen naked by name, first name at that. Ken agreed to take a picture with me but we were at once interrupted by a lovely theater usher who informed us that no pictures were allowed inside the actual auditorium. So, Ken kindly offered to walk all the way from the very front of the auditorium where we were to the outside so I could have my picture. Along the walk which took quite a while as Ken had just had knee surgery, he told me all about his upcoming movies A Fighting Chance and Melvin Smarty, both currently in post-production. We took our picture and I walked Ken back to his seat in time for the second act so he could rejoin his wife and son. Ken–you win my Fave Celeb of the Month award!
