Will Ferrell Hints At Permanent Gig On ‘The Office’

Would Will Ferrell change his temp status as an incompetent Dunder-Mifflin branch manager on The Office to a full-time employee? If you ask Ferrell, his answer might be a “definite maybe!”

Ferrell is set to make a four-episode stint on the NBC hit comedy starting April 14 but there is a good chance he may stay longer!

When NY Daily News asked Ferrell if there’s a chance he may replace Steve Carell permanently once Carell leaves the show later this season, Hollywood’s recently-named most overpaid actor said, “That’s a very distinct possibility.”

Ferrell then told US magazine, “It’s looking good!”

Who knows if Ferrell is serious or joking, but if anyone can save the show after Carell leaves, I have no doubt it would be him. What do you think of this actor switcharoo? Will you tune in?

And, in case you missed the NBC promo spot, below is a video of Ferrell’s first look as the new big cheese in Scranton:

‘Celebrity Apprentice’: Who Got Fired?

SPOILER ALERT:

Dionne Warwick called NeNe Leakes a “coward” on Sunday night’s Celebrity Apprentice, but at the end, it was Dionne who was fired in the boardroom.

The episode started with the men going at each other after their last win. Mark McGrath told the camera it was a miracle that the men had won. And the women were wondering how they could lose to a Gary Busey-lead team.

For this week, the two teams were tasked with creating a 30-second commercial spot for a new ACN video phone. NeNe and Lil Jon were the Project Managers for their respective teams.

After meeting with the company executives who emphasized the need for emotion in their ads, Team A.S.A.P. decided to tell a heart-warming tale of a father and mother calling their daughter who lives overseas in France. Marlee Matlin played the part of the mother to show that a hearing-impaired person can speak to her daughter on the video phone through sign language.

All seemed to be going OK for the women until they had to edit the the commercial late into the night. Diva Dionne asked NeNe if she could leave the team and go get some sleep. NeNe just looked at her and said “go,” but was not happy with Dionne’s move. NeNe told the cameras afterwards: “I am not her babysitter. She can leave anytime she wants to. But, daaamn, if everybody else is sticking it out, then so should she. Nobody cares about her being a legend!”

The men also met with the company execs who seemed quite conservative to Team Backbone but the guys decided to go a completely different direction than what the execs recommended: They gambled by going more modern and humorous and hoped to make their video ad go viral.

The back story of the men’s video involved a grandfather and grandmother calling their grandson (played by Jose Consaco) and meeting the grandson’s male fiancé for the first time through the video call.

It was close, but Team Backbone won the challenge which sent the ladies of Team A.S.A.P. to the boardroom once again.
Marlee and Star Jones were pointing to LaToya Jackson as the weakest link. LaToya had had eye surgery just a few weeks before and woke up that morning without the ability to see. So NeNe could only assign her the menial task of time keeping. LaToya stood up well for herself in the boardroom, so, she was spared.

Dionne, on the other hand, gave The Donald some attitude. When he asked Dionne whom he should fire, the music legend replied, “I’m gonna take the opinion of everyone else, I’d fire me. Fire me!” Then she gave Donald Trump a defiant “I dare you to fire me” glare.

Star Jones spoke up and expressed her unwillingness to ever quit on her charity which made Dionne look even worse to The Donald who hates quitters in the first place.  Jones said, “May I just say this is endemic of one of the reasons why we lose. This is about charity. And I just could not imagine walking in here and saying to you, ‘you can let me go’ without having accomplished the reason of why I have come here.” Warwick then tried to back pedal and say “I would love to stay here, I am a team player,” but it was too little too late. “Dionne, you’re fired,” lashed Donald. And with those words, a whole bunch of people started cheering inside, both inside the boardroom and all across the world!

It was not over though. NeNe approached Dionne outside the boardroom, hugged her and said good-bye but Dionne lashed out: “You’re a coward, baby!” “Why am I a coward?!” asked NeNe, genuinely surprised. “Because you didn’t tell the truth!” said Dionne….and the women quibbled a bit….till Dionne said, “Let’s not do this!”

Meanwhile, inside the boardroom, Donald told Donald Jr. and Ivanka: “[Dionne] looked me in the eye and challenged me to fire her. And no one gets away with that!”

‘American Idol’ Mansion Is Haunted: Idols Move Out

Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures announced today that Academy Award Winner Amy Adams will play Lois Lane opposite Henry Cavill who will play Superman in the Zack Snyder reboot of the film.

Snyder says in a statement: “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about. ‘Dancing With The Stars’: Sneak Peek Of Week 2

Season 12 of Dancing with the Stars premiered last Monday and a couple of celebs, Ralph Macchio and Kirstie Alley, surprised us with their fancy footwork on the foxtrot and cha cha, respectively.

Week two promises to be just as exciting – here is what we can expect from our 11 celebrities:

Kirstie Alley and partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy will flutter across the ballroom in the quickstep. Kirstie is one of the front-runners after her sassy and endearing cha cha last week which landed her in second place.

Also set to do the quickstep are Wendy Williams and partner Tony Dovolani. Hopefully, this style of dance will suit Wendy’s personality better and will bring out her feisty side, attitude and confidence, all of which lacked during her cha cha last week. Her unexpected nerves earned the talk show host the second lowest marks of week one.

Other quicksteppers for week 2 will include Hines Ward and partner Kym Johnson (currently in 4th place), Chris Jericho and partner Cheryl Burke (5th place), Romeo and partner Chelsie Hightower (6th place), and Kendra Wilkinson and partner Louis van Amstel (7th place).

The other dance to be featured week two will be the jive which will be danced by current last-place team, Mike Catherwood and partner Lacey Schwimmer. This sexy duo pushed the envelope on their foxtrot last week, dirty dancing it up so much that, “[ABC executives] asked them to tone down the sexual undertones,” a network source told RadarOnline. The source continued: “They know there is a spark there — everyone is talking about their amazing chemistry.” Hopefully this amazing chemistry will catapult them out of last place this week.

Petra Nemcova looked beautiful and graceful on the dance floor last week performing the foxtrot, but she still landed in eighth place once the judges scores were tallied. She will need to step up her dance moves to the jive with the help of partner Dmitry Chaplin to avoid elimination week 2.
Other contestants dancing the jive this week will be first place Ralph Macchio and partner Karina Smirnoff who blew us away last week with their fantastic showmanship and grace on the foxtrot, Chelsea Kane and partner Mark Ballas (3rd place), and Sugar Ray Leonard and partner Anna Trebunskaya (9th place).
Tune in Monday to see how your faves will perform and then tune in Tuesday for the results show to see which celeb will go home. Also, Chris Brown, who made headlines with a recent outburst behind the scenes at Good Morning America, is scheduled to perform on the results show.  If you missed any of last week’s performances, click here and watch them!

Video: Britney Spears Performs At Secret Las Vegas Shows

Britney Spears performed at two not-so-secret shows Friday night at the Palms Casino Resort’s Rain Nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The concerts were supposed to be a secret and were not announced until the day of the event when Brit took to Twitter:

“Looks like my little secret isnt a secret anymore. Whos coming to watch me take the stage TONIGHT at @RainLasVegas at @PalmsLasVegas?”

Brit first performed a private show at 8 p.m., followed by a midnight concert open to the general public with tickets selling for $60. The 45-minute set featured tracks from her upcoming Femme Fatale album and was shot by MTV for a special to coincide with the release of her album.
During the shows, Britney had several costume and set changes and Jersey Shore‘s Pauly D entertained and warmed up the quaint crowd of about 1,000 before the festivities started. Britney performed Hold It Against MeBig Fat Bass and Till The World Ends.

This was Brit’s first pulic performance since her Circus tour in 2009. Her boyfriend Jason Trawick was on the scene as was her dad, Jamie Spears.

Femme Fatale will be released next week. Watch her performance from Friday night below:

Videos: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Musical Episode Sneak Peeks

VIDEO CLIP OF THE DAY.

I won’t lie – I was a bit skeptical about this coming week’s Grey’s Anatomy: The Musical Event. Well, that is, until I heard Sara Ramirez sing live a few days ago (watch that performance here). Any worries I had were turned into utter ease and now, I can’t wait to watch the episode. Continue reading

Video: Bret Michaels Sues Tony Awards For Head Injury

Bret Michaels almost died last year of a brain hemorrhage which he believes was caused by a severe injury he sustained while performing at the June 2009 Tony Awards, ten months prior to the hemorrhage.

How did the injury happen? A heavy piece of the set was being lowered onto the stage and ended up smacking Michaels right in the face. The rocker was knocked down and ended up with a cut lip and a broken nose. OUCH! You can see the pic that Bret Tweeted after the accident to see his immediate injuries.

Michaels has now filed a lawsuit against Tony Award Productions, CBS and other defendants in L.A. County Superior Court claiming negligence, civil battery, negligent misrepresentation and negligent interference with prospective economic advantage and has asked for an unspecified amount of damages.

“One of the most common causes of this type of hemorrhage is head trauma — exactly like the one Michaels suffered at the hands of the Tony Awards,” the lawsuit alleges.

Here is a statement by Bret’s law firm explaining why the rocker is now suing: “Although he had already suffered significant damages in the period immediately following the incident, Michaels tried to turn the other cheek and was reluctant to take the matter to Court. Accordingly, Michaels and his legal team made several efforts to resolve the matter amicably and out-of-court. The producers of the Tony Awards refused, telling Michaels to pound proverbial sand and not even offering so much as an apology. Nonetheless, Michaels, having well earned his reputation as the kind of guy who can take a punch, was still willing walk away. All that changed when Michaels was almost killed by his injuries and he was forced to think about the fact that because of the Tony Awards, his daughters might grow up without their father.”

I think Bret has a pretty damn good case after watching the horrific footage of the incident. Watch it below for yourself:

Back in 2009 when the folks at Tony Awards tried to brush off the incident as a no big thing, Bret’s rep released a scathing statement about the incident which reads in part:

“I find it surprising that a Tony spokesperson would brush off this incident with a comment stating ‘Mr. Michaels missed his mark’ with no mention of concern for his condition. If everyone at the Tonys were aware that Bret missed his mark then they should have been aware enough to stop the set piece from hitting him or at least slowed it down until he cleared the stage.

I feel had this incident happened to Liza Minnelli, Dolly Parton or Elton John the Tonys would have at least issued a letter of concern.

Bret has performed live, with Poison or solo, for over 20 years and on a daily basis is around pyro, lasers and a moving light show. He understands that there is always an element of risk in any live performance, but Bret entrusts his safety to the crew whose job it is to make sure the show goes off without a hitch and should any member of the band be in harm’s way that they do not complete the gag.

However in this situation Bret was not on his stage but was at the mercy of the Tonys. He was performing on the Tonys stage and had the reasonable expectation that that safety of the artist was a priority and at no time did he do anything over the top or outlandish that would have put himself or others in a dangerous situation.”

This is just a bad situation. Good luck Bret – I hope you win this!

Natalie Portman’s ‘Black Swan’ Dance Double: “Film Producers’ Attempt To Portray Natalie As A Dance Prodigy Is Demeaning To The Profession”

Natalie Portman had a dancing double for her Oscar-winning role in Black Swan and Entertainment Weekly reports a “cover up” claim by that double.

The ballerina who danced in place of Portman at various points in the movie tells the mag that Black Swan‘s producers are misleading the viewing public about how much dancing Portman herself did in the film.

That ballerina double is 27-year old American Ballet Theatre soloist, Sarah Lane, who says: “Of the full body shots, I would say 5 percent are Natalie. All the other shots are me.”

Lane performed many of the film’s complicated dance sequences and allowed Portman’s face to be digitally morphed with her body.

Benjamin Millepied, who holds the titles of Portman’s fiancé, soon-to-be baby daddy, and Black Swan choreographer (and co-star) came to Portman’s rescue by telling the L.A. Times Wednesday, “There are articles now talking about her dance double that are making it sound like [Lane] did a lot of the work, but really, she just did the footwork, and the fouettés, and one diagonal [phrase] in the studio…Honestly, 85 percent of that movie is Natalie.”

Lane, who has pretty much stood by unknown during awards season (Natalie did not mention Lane during her Oscars acceptance speech and Lane is only listed as an extra in the film’s credits) also told EW that Black Swan producer Ari Handel wanted Lane to remain silent about her work on the film. Lane says: “They wanted to create this idea in people’s minds that Natalie was some kind of prodigy or so gifted in dance and really worked so hard to make herself a ballerina in a year and a half for the movie, basically because of the Oscar.”
Lane continues: “It is demeaning to the profession and not just to me. I’ve been doing this for 22 years…. Can you become a concert pianist in a year and a half, even if you’re a movie star?”

Lane may have been asked to keep quiet but Portman herself has previously admitted she used a dance double. She told EW last year: “I do have a double for the complicated turning stuff. It was not anything I ever could have done in a year, nothing I could’ve caught up with. But I think it was just better for all of us if I did as much as possible.”

All of this “I did, she didn’t” talk seems moot now since Portman already nabbed the Oscar for her work on Black Swan.
