George Clooney Speaks After His Arrest: “They Kill People”

George Clooney, now a free man after being arrested outside the Sudanese Embassy in DC last week for protesting that country’s president, is not letting up on what he believes in.
The Oscar-winning actor and human rights activist appeared on Fox News Sunday to once again denounce Sudan’s president, Omar al-Bashir, of “bombing indiscriminate, innocent civilians with Antonov planes.”

Clooney said, “They kill people, but more than that, they’re keeping them hiding in the rocks, in the caves, so that they can’t farm, and they miss their planting season this year. This is the oldest society in the world, if you read the Bible. These people have been there forever, and now they’re not going to be able to feed themselves coming up in the next few months.” Continue reading

Angelina Jolie Attends Congolese Warlord Sentencing

Say what you will about Angelina Jolie and her weird poses at the Oscars, but you can’t deny the humanitarian side of her.

The actress and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador made time to attend the sentencing of Congolese warlord Thomas Lubanga at the International Criminal Court on Wednesday.

Lubanga was convicted of kidnapping and recruiting young children and forcing them to become child soldiers to fight for Congolese rebels. The conviction is the first in the court’s 10-year history and sets a legal landmark in the fight against impunity for the world’s most serious crimes.

Angelina said in a statement: “This is their day. Where these children will feel there is no impunity for what happened to them, for what they suffered.”

VIDEO: Demi Lovato Urges Teens To Donate Jeans To The Homeless

Demi Lovato is encouraging teens to take part in DoSomething’s fifth annual Teens for Jeans campaign with Aeropostale.

The 19-year-old entertainer is the spokesperson for campaign which urges teens to collect gently-worn jeans and donate them to the two million homeless teens around the country.
