Three Al-Qaeda-linked terror suspects were arrested yesterday in Ottawa, Canada and among them, was a former Canadian Idol hopeful, contestant, Khuram Sher.

Sher has been named in an alleged plot to bomb parliament buildings.

Sorta like the movie American Dreamz meets real life. But set in Canada instead.

John Mayer Hates The Huffington Post – Calls It “The Internet Death Star”

Whom can you believe these days if you can’t believe the Huffington Post? I read a story on Huffington yesterday that Jennifer Aniston and John Mayer may be back together, an innuendo made based on something Mayer had supposedly said during one of his concerts.

I don’t report rumors because at least half of the time, the rumors are dead wrong. Or simply made up to gain readership. But this was HUFFINGTON POST! They stand a foot or so above the tabloids. So, I thought for a second about covering this story as well, yet, my gut immediately screamed, “No!” And it looks like I made the right call or I too would have rightfully had John Mayer wishing death upon me as he is doing upon Huffington.

The Huffington Post article in question was titled:  “Are John Mayer and Jennifer Aniston Back On?” The article asked this question based on a quote it attributed to Mayer, which Mayer supposedly made to a crowd of 18,000 at his concert on Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. Mayer supposedly said: “I believe in second chances! You might have been a pain in the ass the last time around, but you can still start over again from home base. Next time you get a text from the one you love just text back ‘come over’ – no matter what happened in the past. If you really love someone, just tell them and be with them.”

Upon reading this article on Huffington, Mayer fired 20 rounds of hate at the online publication through his blog saying:


“Ahh, Huffington Post, the internet Death Star…Huffington Post, this is reporting? How do you pay your writers now, in Silly Bandz? Do you meet your sources in a malt shoppe? This is equal parts fabricated, cobbled together and misleading. Let’s break it down: I don’t think I ever said “I believe in second chances!” but I can’t be 100 percent sure, as it’s possible I could have accidentally said something succinctly and to the point. The next sentence is from the song “Half of My Heart,” in reference to the idea that meeting new people allows for hiding old mistakes. (Well, for most people at least.) The sentence about texting comes from the show’s encore, “Edge of Desire,” in a moment of giving people permission not to beat themselves down for still wanting someone. Two sentences about different things at different points in a concert.The reason I’m calling you out instead of all the other magazines that make stories up out of thin air is that In Touch and Star Magazine aren’t concurrently writing pieces about Pat Tillman or WikiLeaks. Mayer continued: “Those other rags know who they are, and even if they’re obnoxious, I’d rather have to live with them because they (and the rest of the world) know where they stand, which doesn’t make them one tenth as dangerous as you are.”

After Mayer posted his blog bashing Huffington, Huffington made an “update” to its original article, explaining that it had improperly “attributed” the quote to Mayer and insinuates any misquotes to other sources. Huffington’s update read in part: “The first quote mentioned in the original post was not initially attributed as it should have been. The quote came from Express via Ryan Seacrest’s radio show.”

What? It’s Seacrest’s fault now?

Not only did  Huffington Post apparently get this story wrong and blamed others for the inaccurate reporting, Huffington also had the audacity to further write: “[Mayer] does not deny that he and Aniston are dating.”

Wow. I think I am going to stick with reading only my own articles from now on. And John: If you ever want to set the record straight, CelebMagnet would love to write the real story for you. Just give me a ring.

John Mayer gets into a cyberscuffle with the Huffington Post after the online newspaper published a story with the title, “John Mayer & Jennifer AnistonBACK TOGETHER?”
The 32-year-old musician fired back at the HuffPo on his blog saying, “Huffington Post, this is reporting? How do you pay your writers now, in Silly Bandz? Do you meet your sources in a malt shoppe? This is equal parts fabricated, cobbled together and misleading.”
This was in response to the original article which stated, “Are John Mayerand Jennifer Aniston back on? Mayerseemed to indicate they might be when he spoke in front of a crowd of 18,000 at his concert on Sunday at the Hollywood Bowl in LA. “I believe in second chances!” he said. “You might have been a pain in the ass the last time around, but you can still start over again from home base. Next time you get a text from the one you love just text back ‘come over’ – no matter what happened in the past. If you really love someone, just tell them and be with them.”
Mayer’s biggest problem was the piece stemmed from the fact it was posted on the HuffPo, a media outlet with a generally solid reputation. He explained, “Those other rags know who they are, and even if they’re obnoxious, I’d rather have to live with them because they (and the rest of the world) know where they stand, which doesn’t make them one tenth as dangerous as you are.”
The HuffPo coyly responded, “He does not deny that he and Aniston are dating.”
Aniston and Mayer last dated in March of 2009.

Avatar Set For Re-Release This Weekend – Cameron Adds Extra Footage [Video]

The biggest box-office hit of all time, Avatar, is being re-released on the big screen this weekend after an extremely-brief hiatus: Until the 12th of this month, the original movie was still being shown in a limited number of theaters.

The souped-up Special Edition of Avatar, which grossed $750 million in the U.S. and Canada alone during its initial run, includes nine minutes of new footage and will play on about 900 screens–all of which can project it in digital 3-D, including Imax.

The new footage will include an extended love scene between hero Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and his Na’vi love, Neytiri (Zoe Saldana), an extended death scene of Tsu’tey (Laz Alonso) and additional explanations on why the humans decide to wipe out the Na’vi.

You may call him “genius.” Or you may call him “greedy.” But because of this premature and revised re-release, I will also call out Avatar director, James Cameron, as “unfair” to the people who already dished out up to $20 or more per ticket to see the original Avatar only a short while ago who are now faced with the decision of whether or not to shell out more money to see the additional footage. And how about those that poured out even more dough to buy one of the 19 million copies of the movie already sold on DVD?

Cameron tries to explain the re-release by saying he thinks there were still people who wanted to see Avatar when the movie lost most of its 3-D screens to Alice in Wonderland in March. Cameron says Avatar was still selling out in theaters when the movie lost screens to Alice and other 3D movies, so, he decided three days after Alice was released that he would re-release Avatar in August. He then added the extra scenes because so many scenes had to be cut of the original release which he feels when added back, will more fully portray his original vision.

My Two Cents Worth: What I ask in response to all of that is: If this movie is being re-released solely for the people Cameron says missed out on seeing the original, and not simply out of greed, why add the footage he felt should be cut out in the first place? I just don’t buy that Cameron threw in the additional footage of a love scene for any other reason than just to make people go back for seconds or thirds so Avatar can break its own damn record. Whatever, it was a great movie either way the first time around and I am glad I saw it. You can do whatever you like with the re-release, but I just don’t need to spend another $20 to see an extra 9 minutes of film. Who’s with me?

P.S. Avatar will also be re-released in 14 overseas markets this weekend, including Britain, Russia, Australia, India and South Korea. The movie grossed $2 billion overseas during its first release.

Heidi Montag Hates Her Breast Implants

Ok ladies. If you ever want to have plastic surgery, talk to someone who has had that particular procedure done before and get advice.

Or, if you want to get G-sized boobs, don’t. Just don’t.  But if you still insist, how about you first wear a bra of that size, filled with whatever, for a day, and see how you feel walking around with bowling balls stuck on your chest. Just a thought. You could save yourself lot of pain and agony.

Or, just ask Heidi Montag what to do. Heidi, who by her own admission, has had almost every plastic surgery available to women, all in one day no less, is now having major regrets nine months later.

She tells Life & Style that she is still in severe pain from her surgeries and her body can’t handle the weight of those watermelon-sized implants. “My breasts are crushing me… I was taking painkillers but they weren’t working so I stopped. It hurt either way.”

 She says she can’t hug her dogs or wear normal clothing. Worst tragedy for her, she can’t even work out anymore. “I’m obsessed with fitness but it’s impossible to work out with these boobs,” she says. “It’s heartbreaking. I can’t live an everyday life. I feel trapped in my own body,” Heidi admits.”I’m desperate to go back to normal. I’m downgrading and going a little smaller, to a D or a double D.”

Woah! Heidi! No! I know DD’s are better than G’s, but in whose planet are DD boobs “normal?” You didn’t ask me, but let me tell you anyway sister, go for a C-cup and live a truly happy life. Trust me on this one. I know a thing or two on this subject.

As for the nose job she also had done, she said, “I’ve had my nose tape on 24 hours a day since November.  The tape is supposed to keep the swelling down and hold my nose in place the way Dr. Ryan sculpted it. I don’t want my nose to fall off like Michael Jackson’s.”

Good luck Heidi. I hope you find a surgeon that can help you get back to normal and not take advantage of you like other surgeons have in similar situations.

Drew Barrymore Loses Cool With Reporter

Drew Barrymore has always been an open book about her love life and personal problems resulting from growing up as a child actress in Hollywood, so, I am shocked to hear that there was a reporter who pushed Drew a bit too far. And Drew wasn’t shy about her feelings.

In an interview with the London Daily Standard, Drew went off on an interviewer who had spoken to Drew right before the London Daily Standard: “You should have heard this bitch I had to do an interview with before you. God, I wanted to punch her, she would just not drop the youth thing. I have no problem talking about it. I am not someone who is ashamed of my past. I’m actually really proud. I know I made a lot of mistakes, but they in turn were my life lessons. It’s actually good to get it done young and have a great life later. But yeah, man, I wanted to rip this woman’s face off. She just would not shut up about it.”
Drew did not name the interviewer or the publication she works for. But I guess if I ever run into Drew, I will make sure I will stay off the topic of her wilder younger days.

Paris Hilton’s Home Gets Invaded By Armed Man

Yesterday morning, Paris Hilton tweeted, “So Scary, just got woken up to a guy trying to break into my house holding 2 big knifes [sic]. Cops are here arresting him.”

She also tweeted the photo below which is of the man being detained by cops.

The Los Angeles Police Department arrived at Paris’ residence around 6:30 a.m. and took the man, 31-year-old Nathan Lee Parada, into custody. He has since been booked on felony burglary charges and is being held on $50,000 bond at the Van Nuys jail.

Sadly for Paris, this isn’t the first time someone has tried to break into her home. Hilton was robbed of millions of dollars worth of diamonds in 2008.

Paris’ Publicist said: “I can confirm that in the early hours of this morning an armed man with two kitchen knives attempted to break in to Paris Hilton’s home when she was sleeping. The security cameras and alarm system were alerted and the police immediately came to the house and arrested the intruder who was attempting to break a window when they arrived. Paris is naturally shaken by the events but is unharmed and well. She is very thankful to her security team and the police for their swift and diligent response.”
