HAPPY NEWS: All My Children & One Life To Live Saved From Cancellation!

OH HAPPY DAY!!

All My Children and One Life to Live fans have prayed for this day ever since they learned that their favorite daytime shows were canceled by ABC. You can stop the prayers and the tears, both shows have been saved and will continue to air but not on ABC.
ABC has licensed the two programs to Prospect Park, a media and production company which plans on continuing broadcasting AMC and OLTL past their ABC finales (set for September 23 and January 2012, respectively) via online formats and additional emerging platforms including internet-enabled television sets.

Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park said: “We are privileged to continue the legacy of two of the greatest programs to air on daytime television, and are committed to delivering the storylines, characters and quality that audiences have come to love for over 40 years. All My Children and One Life to Live are television icons, and we are looking forward to providing anytime, anywhere viewing to their loyal community of millions.”

Agnes Nixon, the creator of both series, had this to add: “I’m just so happy that ABC found a home where the legacies of All My Children and One Life to Live can continue. I’m excited for their future with Prospect Park. It takes a lot of living to make a soap opera a serial, and the wonderful teams on both shows have done just that. Together, we are a big family that keeps going, and I’m looking forward to working alongside these wonderful people as we ensure that the shows will continue with all the love and excitement we’ve always had. I also am so happy for our loyal fans, whom we love so much, and who have been so supportive over the last 40-plus years.”

SPOTTED: Orianthi Live In Concert (Photos)

You know 26-year old Australian musician, song-writer and bad ass guitarist Orianthi best for being Michael Jackson‘s lead guitarist for his ill-fated This Is It concert tour and for appearing in the movie with the same name. But she’s also played with some other big names in the music business including Carrie Underwood and Carlos Santana and has her own solo album.

Orianthi released her major label record in October 2009. The album produced the worldwide hit According to You, which reached number 2 on US radio airplay and charted to number eight in Australia, three in Japan, and achieved platinum status in the US and Australia. In 2009 Orianthi was named one of 12 Greatest Female Electric Guitarists by Elle magazine. She also won the award as “Breakthrough Guitarist of the Year” 2010 by Guitar International magazine.

On being handpicked by Jackson as lead guitarist for This Is It, Orianthi told The Boston Herlad:
“ I don’t know exactly why he picked me, but he watched my YouTube videos and loved them. He had his choice of guitar players, but I came in and played the ‘Beat It’ solo for him. Afterward he was so happy he got up and grabbed my arm and started walking up and down the stage area with me. He said, ‘Can you play once for me?’ and hired me that night. I wish he was still around. He made me believe in myself more, and I learned so much.”

Orianthi is now working on her next album which she says will be a bit harder rock than her last one. She was spotted playing a concert at The Grove LA July 6, 2011 to kick off The Grove’s Summer Concert Series (With opener John West), with special guest Dave Stewart (Eurythmics, Super Heavy) and here are some photos from the event, including a meet and greet with fans. I also spotted at least two people giving Orianthi their own music CDs – I am sure she gets a lot of demos from fans hoping to catch her attention.

Justin Timberlake: “OOPS! My Mom Caught Me In Bed”

Justin Timberlake and his Friends with Benefits co star, Mila Kunis, are usually pretty hush on their private lives and their interview with Elle mag proved no exception.

When asked about dating in Hollywood, Timberlake, who recently split with Jessica Biel but rumored to be on the mends with her, said in the mag, “I’m not equipped to answer that right now.” Kunis was even more coy in her response: “I haven’t dated ever.” Interesting response for the actress who was in a longterm relationship with Macaulay Culkin.

Timberlake may have brought sexy back, but in this issue, he admits to a very non-sexy embarrassing moment early in his life: “I was caught one time. My mom wasn’t cool about it. I was too young to be in bed with a girl, so she was upset.” And Kunis? She has the opposite situation: “I don’t think my parents think I’ve ever had sex.”

Timberlake and Kunis have been working overtime to promote their upcoming movie. They even recently filmed a PSA asking Facebook to add a “Friends With Benefits status”. You can watch that PSA below.

But in all seriousness, Timberlake says in real life, being friends with benefits is a terrible idea: “It is such a good idea—until it’s a bad idea.”

Kunis agrees, “Ultimately, it ends when someone wants to go and get serious with somebody. More times than not, a person catches feelings and somebody gets hurt.”

About showing too much of his body in the movie, Timberlake says, “I’ll be honest and say, like, I’m still trying to get into the editing room and cut down on my ass time. I’m like, ‘Oh my God, my mom’s gonna see that!”

Kim Kardashian: “Sometimes I Feel Like A Zoo Animal”

Kim Kardashian steams up Cosmopolitan‘s August cover, showing off her toned body in a pink dress for the mag’s annual “Hot Issue.” Inside the issues, Kim speaks out about the worst part of being a celebrity.

“Sometimes I feel like a zoo animal. I’ll be a restaurant, and someone will put their phone in front of my face and take a picture without saying hi.”

Heeelarious. Sorry Kim, next time, I will make sure I say hi first.

The rest of the interview addresses Kim’s upcoming nuptials to Kris Humphries.
It appears that Kim’s plans of staying single were ruined by the 26 year-old NBA player. Kim says, “I thought he was so cute, and he gravitated toward me because I was so anti-relationship at that point. He wasn’t used to that.”

They plan on getting hitched soon and probably by the end of summer. “When you know you want to spend your life with someone, why wait?” The wedding is not the only thing they are rushing. Kim says, “I’m sure at some point in the next year I’ll want to have babies…Maybe we’ll start trying at the end of the year. After the wedding.”

SYTYCD VIDEO: Caitlynn Lawson & Mitchell Kelly Lift And Leap To The Best Routine Of The Night

Caitlynn Lawson and Mitchell Kelly performed a romantic, lift-filled contemporary routine on the fourth week (Top 14) of competition (July 6) on So You Think You Can Dance.

During the pre-tape, we learned that Caitlynn is an outdoors kind of girl and finishes all of her sentences with a giggle. Mitchell lost his father when he was only two and lived in a car with his mother before auditioning in Atlanta. Their routine was choreographed by Mandy Moore to Celine Dion’s To Love You More.
Here is a recap summary of what the judges said: Mary Murphy said it was her favorite number of the night. She called the dance beautiful and came to tears she was so moved. Nigel Lythgoe said the emotion in the routine grabbed everyone and the lifts and leaps just flowed. Nigel said the routine took his breath away and agreed that this was the best routine of the night. Guest judge Carmen Electra said they were powerful and larger than life. Guest judge Travis Wall said it was unbelievable and said Caitlynn is the surprise of the season for him.

SYTYCD VIDEO: Sasha Mallory & Alexander Fost Need ‘Hip Hop For Dummies’

Sasha Mallory and Alexander Fost performed a hip hop routine, aiming for swag, on the fourth week of competition (July 6) on So You Think You Can Dance.

During the pre-tape, we learned that Sasha’s family is all about partying, while Alexander’s father used to be a Hollywood actor. Their routine was about a first date and Alexander wanting a kiss when it was all over. Choreographed by Shaun Evaristo, the number was danced to To The Moon by Miguel.
Here is a recap summary of what the judges said: Guest judge Carmen Electra said Sasha was popping so hard that she didn’t get the sense of the two as a couple. Nigel Lythgoe said it felt like Hip Hop 101 (I agree) and recommended they go through Hip Hop for Dummies. Mary Murphy said she didn’t see the swag. Guest judge Travis Wall “didn’t hate it,” but said the two should work on their musicality.

SYTYCD VIDEO: Melanie Moore & Marko Germar Display ‘Leaps & Bounds Of Passion’

Melanie Moore and Marko Germar performed a show stopping Jazz routine on the fourth week of competition (July 6) on So You Think You Can Dance.

During the pre-tape, we found out Marko rocks a mean drag queen and Melanie has a long-term boyfriend named Mitchell. Their routine was reminiscent of West Wide Story or Romeo and Juliet: A couple who run away from their families because the families have hated each other for centuries. Choreographed by Ray Leeper, the number was danced to Americano by Lady Gaga.

Here is a recap summary of what the judges said: Guest judge Travis Wall thought Marko was strong and said Melanie is amazing. He also said she is by far his favorite dancer in the competition. Guest judge Carmen Electra also said Melanie is strong and called her legs “ridiculous!” Nigel Lythgoe said the pair’s technique matches their performance. Mary Murphy said, “Wow!” And added that the couple has leap and bounds of passion. She called Melanie brilliant and renamed Marko, “Domination Man!”

Dez Bryant isn’t the only Dallas Cowboys wide receiver who is having some off-field woes involving jewelry. It’s Roy Williams’ turn in court as he tries to regain a ring after a engagement that never was.

In wake of a marriage proposal gone wrong in February, The Odessa American reports Williams filed a lawsuit last Thursday with the intent of reclaiming a ring he had mailed to a former Texas beauty pageant winner. The reported value of the piece is nothing to sniff at during an NFL lockout that has put a cloud over players’ incomes: $76,600.

Back around Valentine’s Day, Williams had sent the ring, along with his recorded proposal to Brooke Daniels, but Williams’ romantic gesture was met with Daniels declining to marry him.

Also heavily involved is Daniels’ family. Through a signed affidavit, Williams stated that along with the ring, he mailed $5,000 to help Brooke’s brother. An investigation by insurers discovered that Brooke’s father, Michael Daniels, was in possession of the ring, despite his contrary claims he had lost it.

Michael Daniels told the newspaper this week that Williams had previously told his daughter he wasn’t interested in regaining the ring based on the way in which the relationship was broken off.

“He said, ‘I’m not like a lot of people, I don’t want the ring back,” Daniels said. “You’ll eventually come back to me,’ and she didn’t.”

Daniels also said he’s looking for closure in what he described as argument-laden two-year relationship between Williams and Brooke.

“I want to wash my hands of it,” Michael Daniels told the American. “It’s just a hassle. I’ll take care of my daughter. I don’t need him.”

For Williams to win the suit under the Texas state legal guidelines of the “conditional-gift rule,” it will need to be shown that Brooke Daniels, not Williams, was at fault in “terminating the engagement.”

The offseason just might get even more challenging for Williams soon.

The National Football Post reported earlier this week that because of Williams’ big contract and the chance to give Bryant more playing time, it’s “looking more and more” as if the Cowboys will release Williams.
