James Spader Joins The Cast of ‘The Office’

It’s official: James Spader will be on the cast of NBC’s The Office come next season.

But it’s not what you’re thinking. Spader will not be replacing Steve Carell as the new Scranton branch manager of Dunder Mifflin. He will instead be replacing Kathy Bates as the CEO of Sabre.

Paul Lieberstein, who is executive producer of the sitcom and who plays Toby on the show, said in a statement: “James will reprise his role as Robert California, this uber-salesman that has a power to convince and manipulate, like a high-class weirdo Jedi warrior.”

“He’ll have been hired over the summer as the new manager, but within hours, got himself promoted. Within days, he took over the company. James has an energy that is completely his own, and ‘The Office’ has no tools for dealing with this guy. We’re thrilled he’s joining our cast.”

We still don’t know who will be filling the seat left vacant by the departure of Michael Scott, but rumor has it that they will be promoting from within. Who do you think will be the new branch manager? Who do you think should be the new boss head?

Emily Maynard: The Next Bachelorette?

WHO did not see this coming the second we heard that Emily Maynard and Brad Womack had hit splitsville: Brad Womack’s Bachelor ex, may be the next star of The Bachelorette.

“She hasn’t officially signed on yet, but it looks like a done deal,” a source told Us Weekly“She wants to be famous,” the source also said.

I will fill you in as soon as more details come in.
But you know ABC needs this deal really badly since the majority of people watching The Bachelorette this season seem extremely dissatisfied with how things have progressed or regressed, possibly to the point of giving up on the series all together.
But Maynard’s popularity with fans of the show and even with men on the current season of The Bachelortte is undeniable and millions would tune in to see if this beauty and her daughter will find a happy ending.
And, how much do you want to bet that ABC will be also in talks with Bentley Williams the second the ink is put on a deal with Maynard? As much as we don’t want to admit, I think we would love to see Bentley back on this reality dating show just so we can have a person to bitch about.
Chris Harrison will interview Emily Maynard about her break up with Womack. Will that be the day the next Bachorette will also be announced?

Here’s what Chris told TV Guide about the interview, which airs July 11:

“We’re calling them Bachelor updates, catching up with some of the couples. The first is Brad and Emily, and we’ve actually shot another with Ali and Roberto. If anybody is expecting ‘Jake and Vienna 2’ then they’re sorely mistaken. Emily and Brad very much love each other, very much care about each other and they’re very good people and that definitely comes through. I talk to Brad all the time so I sit down [with Emily] and say, ‘This sucks doing this interview with one person and we’re talking about a friend.’ As far as interviews go, even including Jason/Molly/Melissa this was the most awkward and uncomfortable because Brad wasn’t there.”

Dia Frampton Interview, Life After The Voice

The Voice runner-up Dia Frampton seemed like the shyest person on the planet (next to Xenia, of course) but she claims that’s just not the case.

In an interview with TVLine, Frampton dishes about her on-screen shyness, her previous record label experience, and her original covers of Heartless and Losing My Religion.

Here are some excerpts from the interview:
On being signed on a record label as the sisterly duo Meg & Dia:
“Meg & Dia, we had our peak moment three or four years ago…But that was a long time ago. We first got signed to Doghouse Records when I was 18… And then we got signed to a major label with Warner/Sire, and that’s when I thought, ‘Oh my gosh, things are happening.’ We made a record with an amazing producer… and then it didn’t go anywhere. Our record came and went, we ended up getting dropped, and ever since then it’s been a really hard ride.”

On performing Heartless in the Quarterfinals and being compared to how Kris Allen covered the same song during Season 8 of American Idol:
“Honestly, I still don’t know who Kris Allen is. I haven’t watched Idol since Kelly Clarkson’s year, when I was a lot younger. [People] did tell me The Fray had done a cover, and Blake actually was the one who said, ‘Have you heard it? You could kind of go off of that.’

On appearing shy on TV:

“I’m not a really, really shy person. I think they made me out to be painfully shy on the show. But being on the show was a really new, extremely uncomfortable environment for me, where I never felt I had a confirmed space. I was always trying to prove myself. Don’t forget, I don’t think I’ve played without my sister Meg for almost a decade. Not having her literally right there next to me was such a weird thing…And here I am completely alone in this weird environment, meeting all these new and amazing singers — performing in front of Christina Aguilera — it’s not a place where I feel like I’m gonna completely burst out of my shell.”

On possible record deal with Universal Republic:

“I don’t really know. The second I got off the show I started writing, and I’m going to start playing with my sister again. I definitely want to go with the momentum, but I’m excited just to be playing and writing again.”

PHOTOS: Bachelor Pad 2 Cast

One of my summertime guilty pleasures, Bachelor Pad 2, returns to ABC August 8. The Bachelor and Bachelorette spinoff will pit castoffs from one of those shows against each other for a second (or even third) chance at love and/or a $250,000 cash prize.

Bachelor Pad 2 will bring together a vivacious mix of current and former lovers, past villains (Justin Rego, the double-timing wrestler who ran away from a raging Ali Fedotowsky), and an infamous seductress (Michelle Money, the Womack-worshipper). But the event to watch will be the love-triangle interactions between ex-couple Jake Pavelka and Vienna Girardi, Bachelor winner and his fiancee of a few months, and Kasey Kahl, Vienna’s new boyfriend who will also be in the house.

Now, you ask, why would two people who have such loathing for each other agree to live together again after an ugly televised break up? That is the exact question posed to host Chris Harrison by Channel Guide Mag and this is what Harrison had to say:

“I am always unbelievably surprised when [contestants] come back, but I think it is the nature of these people. It kind of feeds the beast and feeds their insatiable appetite to be in the limelight, to continue their 15 minutes of fame. But the thing is, too, it really is fun.”

Here are some bikini-clad cast photos and bios:

Kristen Stewart Gets New Trilogy Movie Role

Kristen Stewart was just named Forbes‘ 5th highest paid actress, making $20 million between May 2010 and May 2011.

But just when it looked like the money well might run dry for the 21-year old actress, Stewart is stepping from one movie saga coming to an end into another one set to begin filming this August.

The actress who became a household name through the Twilight series, just signed on to play an iconic fairy tale character in Snow White and the Huntsman. But that’s not all…the film’s producer, Joe Roth, has now revealed that Huntsman is being conceived as the first film in a new folklore action-adventure movie trilogy.

The series will also star Thor‘s Chris Hemsworth as the title character and Charlize Theron as her wicked royal highness.

Per EWHuntsman will be conjured up as a Lord of the Rings’-style take on the centuries-old tale,” setting the stage for future installments. “It’s meant to be the first in a series of films,” producer Joe Roth told EW. “This story will end, but there will be questions remaining for these three characters.”
So, looks like Stewart will have a flourishing movie career for years to come even after Twilight permanently goes into dark…I am sure same can be said for newcomer Hemsworth who will probably be juggling future Huntsman films with more Thor installments.

Natalie Portman Accidentally Reveals Her Son’s Name…

Natalie Portman and fiance Benjamin Millepied had a baby boy mid June, but, they have kept his name a secret.

Well, it was a secret until they accidentally spilled the beans on an Israeli TV show.
Portman, who was born in Israel, accidentally gave away the name on Good Evening with Guy Pines.

And what is this secret name? “Alef,” the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet and which represents the oneness of God and the element of air. Continue reading

Celebrities React to Casey Anthony Trial Verdict

Casey Anthony was found not guilty today and the verdict resulted in more shock than the OJ Simpson verdict for most of us, including the celebs. Here is what some of the celebrities said via Twitter today:

Nancy Grace: “#CaseyAnthony defense team #Jose Baez having party inside a bar right now- celebrating. I’m not preaching… but I think that’s wrong.” Continue reading

Fox News Twitter Gets Hacked; Falsely Reports Obama Assassination

Early 4th of July morning, The Fox News Politics Twitter account reported that President Obama had been assassinated in Iowa with Vice-President Joe Biden set to take his place immediately.

“[Two] gunshot wounds have proved too much,” read one of the Tweets. “It’s a sad 4th for #America.” But wait, Obama is just fine, and Biden is still just the VP.

So, what happened? Turns out, the Fox News Politics Twitter account was hacked shortly after midnight and the false messages about the president’s early demise were left around 3:00 a.m.

The account was hacked by “The Script Kiddies.”  In an exclusive interview with SUNY Stony Brook’s student-run Think magazine, a reported member of the Script Kiddies stated they chose Fox News because “we figured their security would be just as much of a joke as their reporting.”

Justin Bieber’s Vanity Fair Cover Bombs In Sales

Everyone LOVES Justin Bieber… EVERYONE. Well, except readers of Vanity Fair.

Women’s Wear Daily reports that Vanity Fair‘s February issue with The Biebs on its cover is the worst-selling issue for the mag in 12 years!! And if that weren’t bad enough, it is one of the top three worst sellers for the magazine since Graydon Carter took over as editor in chief in 1992.
The February issue, featuring the 17-year old teen heartthrob on the cover, has sold a mere 246,000 copies since its release.
But mag publicists should take note that a Bieber cover has been bad news for other mags as well: Biebs’ October 2010 Teen Vogue cover, a publication arguably more suited to Bieber’s fan base, sold 121,054 issues, roughly 12 percent below Teen Vogue’s 2010 average. Bieber’s April 2010, People cover sold 961,762 copies, a 25 percent dip below average sales and  the third worst seller for the weekly all of last year.
I am sure this news is sending shock waves in the Bieber PR camp.
