Metallica fans were treated to an unforgettable performance Friday night when the band’s lead singer and guitarist James Hetfield and lead guitarist Kirk Hammett played the National Anthem at the San Francisco Giants home opener against the L.A. Dodgers.

The musicians sported Giants jerseys and played guitars while performing an electrified version of “The Star Spangled Banner” as part of “Metallica Night.” Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich also got his game on by throwing the first pitch! To continue with the Metallica theme, the Giants applied some metal makeovers to the players’ scoreboard. And it all worked because the Giants won the game 2-1.
