Sophie Tweed -Simmons X Factor Audition

The most notable audition on The X Factor USA tonight (September 26) belonged to Sophie Tweed-Simmons, daughter of KISS founder Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed.

Although the 19-year-old wanted to keep her identity on the back burner, the second she walked on stage in San Francisco and introduced herself judge Demi Lovato noticed. “That’s where I know you!” she said. “You’re Nick’s sister … Gene Simmons’ kid.”

Sophie told X Factor producers, “It’s hard. I really just want to step out from being in the shadows of being the daughter of ‘the guy from KISS.’” And when Simon Cowell asked how her famous father felt about her auditioning for The X Factor, Sophie answered, “I didn’t want my dad’s help…My parents didn’t know I was doing this until yesterday, and they’re pretty upset with me.”

Sophie sang Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love”, But unlike the many who sang it before her and who made Cowell curse them for trying, Sophie won over Simon and the other judges too. Well, all of them except L.A. Reid.
