Kim Kardashian Sues Old Navy For Misuse Of Her Doppleganger

Maybe the last straw was the fact that Kim Kardashian‘s Old Navy commercial doppleganger (singer Melissa Monaro) started dating Kim’s ex, Reggie Bush.

Or maybe it was Old Navy Tweeting Kim and flaunting their use of Kim’s clone and look-alike in their commercials.

Whatever the reason, Kim has finally sued the retailer for copyright infringement of her image. Well, not exactly that, but close.

Kim’s attorney, Gary Hecker, filed a federal lawsuit against Old Navy in U.S. Disctrict Court today, citing the retailer’s “unauthorized use of Kardashian’s name, likeness, identity and persona.” Kim’s attorney adds: “Kim Kardashian is immediately recognisable, and is known for her look and style. Her identity and persona are valuable. When her intellectual property rights are violated, she intends to enforce them.”

Kim is seeking damages of up to $20 million, and has said that she’s worked “hard to support the products [she’s] personally involved with that [she] believes in.” Guess Old Navy just isn’t her cup-o-tea.

This is what Old Navy Tweeted back in February which may have added to Kim’s fury: “Breaking News!! @CBSNEWS reports that Old Navy’s Super CUTE star looks like @kimkardashian. #LOL. What do you think?”

Well, we now know what Kim thinks. And it doesn’t spell “C-U-T-E” for Old Navy.
