LIVE SHOW RECAP:
Penn who won goes and visits his charity and gives them a $40K check. Mary Lou gets transferred to Team Power to even the teams out. Trace wanted Penn instead because he thinks he and Penn could run the tables on everyone. For their next task, the teams have to make a 45-60 second silent movie for Australian Gold suntan lotion to capture the brand’s personality. The winning project manager for this task will get $40 K for their charity. Gary Busey is the PM for Plan B while Trace Adkins is the PM for Power.

TEAM PLAN B
Gary who is an Academy Award nominee decides that he wants to do a 20’s style movie. Stephen says they should do a more contemporary style instead. Gary is insistent even though Marilou points out important questions like what would Gary do with old style bathing suits and such.

Gary is all over the place with his ideas. The Koala Bear is the Australian Gold mascot. Gary asks the execs, “Where do you see Koala bears on the beach?” Stephen is confused. Penn is trying to take control again to make up for Gary’s mis-directions. The execs tell them that SPF 15 bronzer is their money maker and they should focus on that because they fly off the shelves.

As for a movie theme, Gary wants to do a theme of a vampire with a day pass who is afraid of the sun. He is not giving any clear ideas. But in the end, they come up with a story line that they all like. Penn says from the moment he signed up for Celebrity Apprentice, he was hoping to ride in the roller coaster that is Gary Busey as project manager.

Gary is going shopping for the task instead of working on more important details. He takes Lisa with him and sends Penn and Stephen to the studio to get the shot list in place. Stephen wants the tag line of, “never fear, Australian Gold is here.” Penn does not get Stephen’s sense of humor and says “we are all trapped in our own sense of humor.” Penn cannot overcome Stephen’s desire to use cliches. Stephen says Penn is creeped out by Penn because he does magic and is a big guy.

When they start shooting their movie, Don Jr. comes by and is impressed that they all look relaxed. He likes that the celebrities on their team are being highlighted in the movie. Gary wanted everyone to direct the film. Stephen thought that would mean tooooo many chefs in the kitchen. So, he ‘took the bull by the horn’ and assigned himself as the sole director. He was happy and disgruntled to direct Gary Busey. Lisa thinks if they lose, Stephen’s neck is on the line because he has taken on such a big role.

TEAM POWER
Brande suggests that they go through the history of the suntan lotion using Frankenstein. Lil Jon wants to focus on the brand and use their mascot. Trace thinks his team is made up of not so smart folks.

Trace wants to do a caveman who is transported to a modern world theme. I think he thinks he’s doing a Geico ad. “Cavemen are always fun,” he says. Lil Jon has experience with this exact task from his last time on Celebrity Apprentice and tries to help on lead. He asks all the right questions from the execs. Trace meanwhile says spending time with the execs is a waste of time. “Let’s just implement what we have come up with…this caveman stuff.” Lil Jon tries but cannot make Trace understand how important product integration is. Trace just wants to focus on telling a (caveman) story–concentrate on creativity and brand messaging. He wants to integrate product only in the last scene. He thinks if he wins on the other two criteria, he will win the task.

Their movie will be Flintstones-like with Lil Jon directing it. Trace looks hilarious in his costume and says he is a house trained caveman. Ivanka likes the time travel idea but says it will all come down to execution and she thinks Trace has a hard road ahead of him. When they are all done, Lil Jon is the only one that insists on everyone staying late to get a shot of the product into the movie.

THE PRESENTATION
Both teams show their movies to the execs and the execs liked Power’s focus, creativity and brand messaging. They also liked their brand integration. They also said Gary’s team had a lot of creativity and they loved Lisa and were captivated by her. They also said Gary was impressive from the meeting with the execs to the end. They thought Trace was the star of his team. As for negatives, with Plan B, the execs wanted to see more of the product and for Power, they wanted to see the product earlier…so, who is the winner??? We have to wait until the boardroom of course to find out.

THE BOARDROOM, ROUND 1
Gary says his star and best player was ‘everyone.’ He would not name a best or worst player. Stephen said in his entire time on Celebrity Apprentice, this was the most collaborative and creative task ever. Penn said Stephen was great as a director. Trump said the executives thought Lisa was fantastic and that she must be so happy to have come back on the show and redeem herself form her quick exit last time.

Trace sighs when asked who his star was …he said, “we all..” Everyone seems happy on this team. Weird to think this was the contentious, ever losing team power. Both teams even picked the same music!

Trump says the execs LOVED both teams and it was very close. The executives liked that Trace showcased the entire line of Australian Gold products but did not like that he waited until the last second to do so.  They liked the clear and clean message of Plan B and liked the incorporation of the mascot. The only negative was that they only focused on the bronzer. Penn said it was the entire team’s decision, not just one person to focus on the bronzer alone.

TEAM POWER WINS!!

BOARDROOM, ROUND 2
Donald says this is hard on him because Team Plan B did well, despite losing. No one blames anyone for the lack of broader product integration. When asked who he should be fired, Penn said Gary did an astonishing job but he always says the PM should be fired. Stephen also jumps in and says Gary did an “amazing” job. He then changed it to: “This is the best he’s ever been, that’s all I am saying.” His first admission will come back to bite him!

This team is trying to save everyone because the contest was so close. Gary brings back Stephen and Penn to the boardroom. The execs thought Lisa was a star, so, he could not bring her.

FINAL BOARDROOM
Gary says the fault of not having the product in the show could be Stephen’s fault as director or him as PM. Stephen said they all knew the best thing to do was to include all the products, they just ran out of time to do so. Stephen says it’s not his job to enforce decisions, not add to story line. Gary admitted Penn should not be fired, and said he would not fire him as his friend, so Donald said “Penn, go,” and sends him back to the suite.

Donald says he did not like that in a fight for survival, Stephen said Gary did an ‘amazing’ job, especially since he should have known that it would come down to Stephen or Gary being fired.

Donald says they were both outstanding but he did not like that Stephen called Gary ‘amazing.” He added that Gary was a good PM and fired Stephen Baldwin because he was the director and did not put all the products in.
