2013 Grammy Wrap Up: Who Came With Whom & Who Won What!

“Music’s biggest night” didn’t disappoint. The 2013 Grammy night was full of fun and surprises. In case you missed it:

Katy Perry, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Alicia Keys and a host of other ladies didn’t get the Grammy dress code memo– all of the ladies opted for skin baring dresses… And they looked fantastic.

Taylor Swift sent a not so secret message to ex boyfriend; Harry Styles- Taylor opened the show with her song, “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together.” During part of the song she used a fake British accent and sang, “So he calls me up and says I still love you.But I said, I’m sorry, I’m busy opening up the Grammys.”

Rihanna and Chris Brown were seen cuddling together during the telecast. The couple sat together and cameras caught her resting her had on his shoulder on more than one occasion. More than a few eyebrows were raised considering the night before the Grammys in 2009 Chris beat Rihanna and ignited a firestorm that still surrounds the couple today. In an interview last week, Rihanna said that if getting back with Brown was a mistake, it “is mine to make.”

Rihanna took to the stage and laid down one of her best vocals in years- she preformed “Stay” a single of her album with Mikky Ekko. A little while later, Frank Ocean won the Grammy for “Best Urban Contemporary Album” (Brown was also nominated in that category) the audience gave Ocean a standing ovation, Brown, sitting in the front row donning a white suit, chose to remain seated. Why you ask? He probably is a sore loser, but the real reason is likely that Brown and Ocean were involved in an altercation over a parking space last week at a recording studio. Stay classy Chris.

Kelly Clarkson is adorable. There, I said it. The singer nabbed the award for “Pop Vocal Album” for “Stronger“ and her acceptance speech was the most talked about moments of the evening. “I got stuck to Miranda Lambert. There’s a story and a song. For later, after alcohol,” she laughed to the room of A-listers. “I’m just kidding, children. I get nervous speaking in front of people. “I didnt know I was going to win ’cause I literally, I was so excited to be in a category with Fun. I have been covering you all summer. I’m sorry, I love that song. I think it’s so awesome. I love Pink. Everyone — Adele — that I was in a category with. Miguel, I don’t know who the hell you are, but we need to sing together. I mean, good god, that was the sexiest damn thing I’ve ever seen. What? Anyway, thank you so much, friends, family, label, my manager, Narvel [Blackstock, Brandon’s father and Kelly’s manager], my fiancé, who is sexy tonight. I did not think I was going to win.
Thank you!” Following her speech, fellow nominee Pink tweeted “Congrats to Kelly
Clarkson for the award and that love able speech. You made me laugh. Can’t wait to hear that song with Miguel. Xo”

Prince returned to the Grammy stage! ‘the purple one’ was on stage to present the award for Record of the Year. And the winner was…Gotye for “Somebody That I Used to Know.”

After a 5 year hiatus, Justin Timberlake made his long awaited return to the Grammy stage; he teamed with Jay Z and preformed their duet “Suit & Tie”, and JT also performed “Pusher Love Girl.”

Bruno Mars and Sting did a show-stopping rendition of Mars’ hit “Locked Out of
Heaven.” Adele, Neil Patrick Harris, Taylor Swift and even Nicole Kidman all danced
and sang along during the performance. Bruno and Sting also joined in for a Bob Marley tribute featuring Rihanna and Ziggy Marley.
