The 55th Grammys: Side Boobs, Buttocks, Bare Flesh. Not Welcome Here!

Grammy‘ must be short for grandma – the producers of ‘music’s biggest night’ have sent a memo telling the biggest names in music ‘what not to wear.’

A ‘Standard and Practice Wardrobe Advisory’ was issued to all attendees detailing the Grammy’s new dress code. Here’s a sample of the stricter guidelines:

“Please be sure that buttocks and female breasts are adequately covered…thong type costumes are problematic. Please avoid exposing bare flesh under covers of the buttocks and buttock crack.” The side boob is also banned: “Bare sides or under curvature of the breasts is also problematic. Please avoid
sheer see-through clothing that could possibly expose female breast nipples.”

The “Wardrobe Advisory” was leaked to deadline.com by a source who complained, “I assume that my lovely colleagues do not get this same email for the Oscars.”

Grammy night has previously been a big night for both music and fashion- Jennifer Lopez put herself and Versace on the map in 2000 when she donned a barely there silk and chiffon dress. In recent years, artists such as Lady Gaga, Pink, Rihanna and Fergie have raised eyebrows with their outfits on Grammy
night.

To calm some fears that the dress code may negatively affect the show, CBS assures fans that they sent the same fashion-guidance memo last year. Regardless, it looks like Joan Rivers and company will not be the only fashion police on the red carpet on Sunday.
