The Real Housewives of Atlanta 11/11 Recap: “Excess Breeds Success”

Tonight’s (11/11/12) episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta lacked some of the drama from last week’s season premier; but we did get our first glimpse of a possible reconciliation between former besties Kim and NeNe… and Kenya and Cynthia continued to bring the drama. Here is a full recap of The Real Housewives of Atlanta November 11, 2012, “Excess Breeds Success”:

Kim and Kandi are still happy with the men in their lives. Kim and her husband Kroy celebrated her birthday and continued to discuss where there are going to live now that their dream home has turned into a nightmare. While Kim was trying to move out of her home, Kandi and her boyfriend were still happily settling into theirs.

We also met the man in Kenya’s life, Walter- he is Kenya’s boyfriend and the reason she moved from Los Angeles to Atlanta. Obviously she must have strong feelings for this man to move across the country for him; Kenya declared her love for her beau by telling the camera that Walter is “simple, uncomplicated and would give me pretty kids.”  If Walter and Kenya ever make it down the aisle, let’s hope she doesn’t write her own wedding vows.

Cynthia decided to toast BFF NeNe’s recent Hollywood success by throwing a women’s empowerment celebration.  Shockingly, in a room that included Kim and NeNe the showdown of the night takes place between Cynthia and Kenya. But first, lets talk about everyone’s favorite frenimies Kim and NeNe.

Surprisingly, Kim and her latest accessory, Sweetie (her once fired now re-hired assistant) attended the event. Remember, Kim and NeNe have barely spoken to each other since NeNe tried to choke Kim on Kandi’s tour bus a few seasons ago.  On her way out of the party, Kim bumps into NeNe, they are cordial but the reunion is short lived. Kim runs to the bathroom and promises NeNe she will return, but instead she leaves the party.  Looks like we’ll have to wait a little longer for this reunion- at least there was no choking or wig pulling. Could it be that NeNe has evolved past the petty drama? Maybe not, in the previews for the rest of the season it looks like NeNe is screaming at and possibly grabbing one of the ladies- I guess Ryan Murphy can only do so much and Ms. Leakes’ transformation from rowdy reality star to sitcom starlet may still be a work in progress.

Cynthia and Kenya continued to battle and throw shade at one another at the party. Things between these two have not cooled off since their tiff at Cynthia’s model casting.  Towards the end of the night, Cynthia thanks everyone for coming to the event. Kenya then grabs the microphone and also thanks everyone for coming. Next, she approaches NeNe and tells her that she hopes they can be friends despite her rocky relationship with Cynthia. Cynthia overhears and the two begin arguing. According to Cynthia, “Miss USA can take her gown and her sash and wave her way out the door.”

Even though filming has ended for this season, the drama has not stopped for these two ladies. Recently, in a bravo.com blog Kenya wrote, “Even though Cynthia is a beautiful woman, at 45, maybe Cynthia should retire her dusty old wigs and worn out makeup brushes that are just as worn out as her welcome mat from the modeling industry.”  Not to be outdone, Cynthia also took to the Bravo blogs and said “Why are you so comfortable to come into my place of business and act a hot ass mess? Who are you and where is your dermatologist?”  Wow, things in the ATL are heating up and its only the second episode of the season, stay tuned.

  1. I think I’m on team Cynthia, with this season’s debacle between her and Kenya. I thought Kenya was way out of hand with the way she acted at Cynthia’s modeling academy and at the Women’s Empowerment celebration. This episode gave me and my DISH coworker plenty to talk about at work today. This is why I’m glad I recorded it on my DISH Hopper. When I played it back today I was able to start watching on my living room TV and then continued watching on my kitchen TV right where I left off. I can’t wait to see what materializes in the way of Kim and NeNe’s relationship!
