Giulianaand Bill Rancic gave us the happy news that they’re expecting a baby this summer! The announcement was a surprise even more so since it’s not Giuliana herself who is pregnant; the couple are using a gestational surrogate.

“The baby is 100 percent genetically ours. It’s our embryo. [When Giuliana was diagnosed with breast cancer] we had the embryos frozen. Everything happens for a reason, and we believe this is meant to be and the way it was supposed to work out.

“If she’d gotten pregnant, it probably wouldn’t have been a very good outcome because of all the hormones — it would have made the cancer surge. So this was the best option.”

Giuliana is now cancer free — but has been medically advised to wait 3-5 years before she can safely try to conceive again.

“As soon as we heard that [medical advice] we moved forward with this plan,” she tells Us.
