Common Performs At LA Times Party At Drais Hollywood

Common was the host of the LA Times Magazine’s Rock/Style event on Tuesday June 1, 2010.  I first noticed him flipping through the soon-to-be officially released June 2010 copy of LA Times Magazinemost likely looking for the article he has written for that issue on the lessons he learned while struggling to break into an acting career after an established hip-hop career.
Lucky for me, I had an advanced copy of the publication as well and had already read his article; so, I had lots to talk to him about. I walked over to him and asked if we could speak and he asked if I would sit next to him. OH HELL YA I WOULD! When I told Common I loved him on Date Night, he seemed surprised and asked, “You’ve seen that?” I always find it charming when actors are surprised that their work is actually seen and appreciated by fans; that happens more than you’d think.

Common and I then spoke about the article and he reiterated one of the main points: His initial impression that his musical success would give him an edge in Hollywood was totally smashed when he first tried his hand at acting. He said his success as a music artist was actually a hindrance because directors don’t necessarily want to cast rappers in films.
I also told Common all about CelebMagnet.com and how I use the site to debunk gossip and promote artists that not only create great art but who also make a positive contribution in the world as well. He encouraged me and said, “Just keep doing your thing girl, keep doing your thing.” Thanks Common, I think I will.

I had no business cards on me, so, I made a hand-made one for him and he promised to check out my site. Common, are you here? If you are, I want to say I love the idea behind your Common Ground Foundation and would love to do an interview with you about it. From what I understand, the foundation is dedicated to empowering youth in urban neighborhoods and providing life skills needed to achieve their dreams and gain confidence and self-respect. I wish we had more time to talk about this in particular, but there were many people he needed to speak with last night. We took some pictures and with that, I bade farewell, to a very nice gentleman whom I can only hope to run into again. What Happens When A Hollywood Star Meets A Hollywood Starlet?

CELEBRITY ENCOUNTER.

Yesterday, I introduced my good friend, actress Melissa Ordway (17 Again; The Last Song, Melrose Place) to Aiden Turner (All My Children and Dancing with the Stars).  Melissa’s mom loves Aiden (what female doesn’t?) and Melissa took a picture with Aiden for her mom to make her happy. What happened next was quite charming. Aiden, a seasoned actor himself, became so star-struck with Melissa, that he gave her his email address, and asked, “maybe you should send me my picture with you for my mom.” Want to read more about this gorgeous woman and her beauty tips?  Amiintrouble.com has the exclusive scoop for you. Miley Cyrus Bashes Tabloids, Denies Kissing A Girl, And Asks For World Peace

From Miley Cyrus’ Blog

Fri, Jun 4, 2010
To all my fans,
Thank you for all the support you all show me. Sometimes youre the only thing keepin’ me goin’ strong! There are so many people out there that are so negative and always causing new issues. I feel like the entertainment industry has become nothing but a disgusting tabloid. I performed Cant Be Tamed this week on one of my favorite shows here in the UK Britians Got Talent. Which is totally true, there were some amazinnnggg acts (but of course no one could focus on that.) I had such a blast and was so honored to be on that stage.
That being said during my performance I supposedly “KISSED A GIRL” and this is the newest thing to cause controversy. I promise you I did not kiss her and it is ridiculous that two entertainers cant even rock out with each other without the media making it some type of story. I really hope my fans are not disappointed in me because the truth is I did nothing wrong. I got up
there and did my job which is to perform to the best of my ability. I just want to put an end to this right now and just say one thing to everyone out there making this performance such a big deal.
GET OVER IT! NOTHING HAPPENED. THERE ARE WAYYYYYYY MORE IMPORTANT
THINGS IN THE WORLD.
Lets start focusing a little less on making up ignorant rumors and focus a little more on world peace! We gotta a lot of work to do if we wan this earth to be here much longer. Lets make a change! It wouldn’t hurt the world to show a little more love.

Kristen Stewart Of Twilight Apologizes For Comments Re: Looking Like A Rape Victim

Twilight fans know all too well that Kristen Stewart is camera-shy when it comes to paparazzi but she may have stepped over the line with some fans and rape-victims groups earlier in the week for comments she made to Britain’s Elle Magazine about media photos of herself: “The photos are so…I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped…A lot of the time I can’t handle it.” Yesterday, Kristen publicly apologized for those remarks, saying she had made “an enormous mistake.”

“I really made an enormous mistake — clearly and obviously. And I’m really sorry about my choice of words,” Stewart told People magazine while in Korea to promote the June 30 release of  The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.  “‘Violated’ definitely would have been a better way of expressing the thought,” she added. “People thinking that I’m insensitive about this subject rips my guts out. I made a big mistake.”

Poor Kristen–I am sure these chain of events only lead to her wanting to be more reclusive. Guess she had no idea when she filmed the first Twilight movie that she would be the subject of such intense media scrutiny. Now that she has apologized, let’s move on to happier things and count down the days to June 30th when we will all be reunited with our favorites: Bella, Edward and Jacob. Bookmark and Share

Earlier this week, RAINN had called Stewart’s comments to Elle inappropriate, noting that rape is a violent crime rather than a mere intrusion.
The group on Friday said it “appreciates Kristen Stewart’s sincere apology regarding these comments” and looked forward to working with her again in the future.
Stewart and her co-star Robert Pattinson became international teen idols starting in late 2008 after the success of the first “Twilight” movie, about the love affair between a shy high school student and a vampire.
But Stewart has complained frequently about the effect on her personal life of the three movies based on the best-selling books of Stephenie Meyer. A fourth movie “Breaking Dawn” is due for release in November 2011.

Oh no! My t.v. life will never be the same. 7 hours of Martha Stewart’s lifestyle each week day? What are the people at Hallmark thinking? It would be like standing in the greeting card aisle surrounded by birthday, anniversary, graduation and other sundry notes. This could start a bad trend.

Martha has her ideas of a lifestyle, but that doesn’t mean that most people want to live that way. A lot of these shows will be watched by an older audience, but then at night they want to aim their shows at the youth that all t.v. is constantly courting.

How much is Martha going to make from all of this. And the bigger question is how much does she need? It sounds very selfish to me when someone has this much going on. It is just like Oprah when she gets her own network. How much money does she need to make? How many houses do these ladies need? I know they give a lot to charity, but still they have fortunes.

I live a very good life at $887 a month. I couldn’t stand myself if I felt I deserved or had to have all that they do.

God bless Martha and Oprah. No one gave them anything! They worked hard to get to where they are. I do agree that they both could give so much more back to society. When you have much, Much is expected! Go girls!

How much of Martha Stewart do we have to put up with? One day of her was enough. This is totally stupid. Put the Waltons,Little House on the Prairie back on. It’s a lot more entertaining. Or put good movies on. Isn’t this suppose to be a movie channel?

I agree. Please take Martha Stewart off the air. She is on much too much. Five hours is too much. You could at least put something on better than her. I used to enjoy the Hallmark Channel during the day, except you now you put a white collar criminal on, instead of something entertaining. Enough is enough. Please reconsider and put on something more enjoyable.

This Kristen Stewart has made a foolish comment. She does not know the pain of rape. She only knows the pain of being a terrible actress who has become famous. Wampum does not know why she is famous. Wampum’s mule does not know why she is famous. But Wampum’s mule is a better actor than this Kristen Stewart. HA! This comment has amused us. This article has not.

She is such a immature child. If she hates the career that she’s chosen for herself then she needs to pick a new one or shutup & deal with what comes with being famous. And the rape comment, please. She needs to really stop throwing that comment around before someone that has gotten raped gets in her face about it one day & hurts her feelings.

Heidi Klum And Seal to Star On New Reality Show, Love’s Divine On Lifetime

PLEASE TELL me if there is a cuter/happier couple out there in celebrity land than Heidi Klum and Seal?  Cause I can’t think of any. They are also the latest couple to land their very own TV show and I for one cannot wait!

The lovebirds will star in Love’s Divine, a brand new show created by Lifetime to help couples across country live happier married lives.

“After getting positive feedback from family and friends, they decided they wanted to help others share the same kinds of special moments,” a friend of Heidi’s told People. “For example, they want to help people who didn’t have their dream wedding the first time around to get a second chance.” This makes me want to get married JUST SO Heidi and Seal pay my house a visit.

Common May Be A Hip-Hop Artist & An A-List Actor, But He Is Also The Coolest Celeb I Ever Met

Brazilian Blowout Straighten Frizzy Hair

If you have unruly, unmanageable, frizzy, or curly hair, you may have wished or probably even dreamed that you could change its texture. Well, I am here to tell you that your wishes have been answered and your dreams have come true in a new process still being perfected called the Brazilian Blowout™. Introduced on the west coast just over a year ago, Brazilian Blowout™ is a professional smoothing treatment that is quickly making its way across the country. This God-sent cure for unruly hair is welcomed by some of the most famous women in Hollywood including Halle Barry, Lindsey Lohan, Nicole Ritchie, and Ashley Tisdale.  And now, you can have the same procedure done, at half the usual price (Los Angeles only, sorry–but look on Craigslist for possible similar deals in your area).

What does the Brazilian Blowout™ do? And why is it gaining such widespread popularity so quickly? Well, I can tell you from personal experience that it has made my frizzy hair shinier, softer, silkier and even healthier. Most importantly, it has turned my hair which usually takes two hours to dry and style, into wash and wear hair with just one treatment. The truly amazing and revolutionary claim by the Brazilian Blowout™ is that it also actually improves hair, rather than drying it out, like some traditional Japanese relaxers and similar straightening methods that break bonds in the hair. Brazilian Blowout™ is a conditioning-based system that starts working immediately. And, it washes out gradually and evenly in 10-12 weeks. No waiting for your old hair to grow back and having to deal with a frightening half-curly-half-straight mane. And, if you have color or highlights in your hair, the Brazilian Blowout™ will actually even bond better with your hair versus other chemical straighteners that do not work on color-treated hair.

Now, I will tell you that I am no expert on hair; I am not a beautician. I am not a medical guru either. I am just a consumer who needed a product to tame my mane; so I could go swimming without worrying about the beach or chlorine frizz afterwards. I can tell you based on my own personal experience with both the Brazilian Blowout™ and a process similar to it called QOD Keratin, I will never be found without one of these chemicals in my hair ever again. I say this despite some rather negative things I have read about the chemicals used as possibly being carcinogenic. I for one am not worried for me. But you should do your own research. AND, if you decide you want to give this process a try, and if you live in LA or will be in LA, I have the deal of the century for my Celeb Magnet readers. This process can cost anywhere between $200-400 in salons. But I get my hair done by an awesome stylist who uses the QOD Keratin procedure and she will give Celeb Magnet readers this treatment for just $125! That’s right, $125. Just tell her you are a Celeb Magnet fan!  She also does cuts and color!
