Oprah Winfrey revealed last week that she will make a huge announcement this Monday on The Oprah Winfrey Show about a family secret she learned of a few months ago and which “shook her to her core.”
Oprah even teased fans with preview footage of someone coming towards her onto the stage for an embrace.
What could this secret be? Who could this mystery person be? Any guess is a good guess as it could be anything. Could it be a sister? A brother? A lost child she may have given up for adoption? Was Oprah herself adopted? Whatever/whoever it is, Oprah calls it is a “miracle.”

I don’t cover stories on Charlie Sheen‘s fun-loving escapades, as juicy as they seem to be. But my field reporter Hayward Taylor found a really good Sheen-related piece in the NY Post that I just have to re-print:
Comic Jim Norton is sick of people making fun of Sheen, calling him a “hero” instead.
He jokes: “What a shock that a guy who makes $2 million a week behaves exactly like I would with $2 million a week. As far as I’m concerned, if you make $2 million a week and you don’t have a hooker in your hotel room, you’re creepy and I don’t trust you. And I don’t do drugs at all, so for me it would just be more prostitutes. That’s how they would find me. I would be dead on the floor, flattened by a pile of prostitutes. I’d look like a cat in a hoarders’ house.”
Methinks Jim has a good point there. Stop paying that much money to someone that doesn’t know what to do with it and instead pay it to someone who deserves it, like, like, ……, hmmmm…..can’t think of anyone who would deserve so much cash. Seriously? $2M???
Britney Spears proved once again that she is the princess of pop despite her long absence from the music scene.
Britney’s new single, Hold It Against Me, made its debut at #1 helping Britney to become only the second artist ever to debut more than one song at #1.
The single is the first song to debut at No. 1 since Ke$ha’s We R Who We R the week of Nov. 13, 2010 and already has 411,000 downloads, the highest first-week total for any female artist.
Hold It Against Me is Britney’s fourth song to hit #1 on the Hot 100 overall, after 3, Baby One More Time and Womanizer.
The only other artist to have multiple #1 debuts is Mariah Carey with Fantasy,One Sweet Day and Honey. Britney is overjoyed at this success and said over Twitter: “Seriously, I have the best fans ever. I love you all so much! Everything I do is for you!”

The USA Network’s latest drama, Fairly Legal, debuts tonight, Thursday, at 10 PM EST, and will star Sarah Shahi, the former Dallas Cowboys cheerleader turned actress.
Best known for her role as Carmen de la Pica Morales on The L Word, Shahi was also #90 on the Maxim magazine “Hot 100 of 2005” list, before moving on up to #66 in 2006.
On Fairly Legal, the beautiful, exotic Shahi of Iranian and Mexican descent, plays Kate Reed, daughter of a famous lawyer.
For five years, she was a rising lawyer star herself, until her father died and she decided to make some major changes in her life and become a mediator instead. How
Sarah explains the show as being “A lot like Law & Order meet Sex & The City with a lot more sex than law!”
About her new role on Fairly Legal, Shahi told BuddyTV.com:
“I was at a place, when I auditioned for the show, I had just had a baby, I was five weeks post-partum, and I just felt like if I wanted to get back into the game and away from my child, it better be in something that was worth it, and that could really be life-changing for a career and our (family) position.
“Also, I wanted to play the role because I was attracted to Kate. She is a character who’s all cool on the outside, and may look like she has things figured out, but when it comes down to it, she doesn’t. She struggles a lot. She struggles with her relationship with her stepmother, with her relationship with her ex-husband … there’s a whole aspect of her dealing with the death of her dad. There’s a lot going on that lead to these great internal conflicts for her, and I really wanted to play those out.”
Shahi, is married to star of Showtime’s Shameless, Steve Howey. The two were at an interview with Mario Lopez of Extra recently – and I videotaped a cute little flirtation between Shahi and Lopez, as hubby Howey stood on the sideline. Howey was a pretty cool champ about it all; he even took a pic of his wife and Lopez with his own cell phone (see below). Watch the flirtation for yourself:
A big thumbs up for celebrities using their name to help the world become a better place.
Take Katharine McPhee for example. To help bring back attention to a cause possibly forgotten, McPhee has teamed up with American Eagle Outfitters who in turn have entered into a partnership with Concern Worldwide US to raise funds for the rebuilding and support of schools in Haiti.
On the one-year anniversary of the Haiti earthquake on January 12, there are still “1.3 million people living in these tents,” McPhee told Mario Lopez of Extra.
Along with McPhee, celebs such as The Edge, Ryan Seacrest, Sean Paul, Joaquin Phoenix, Mark Ruffalo, & Garcelle Beauvais, just to name a few, are helping to spread the word to buy and wear a limited-edition, AE-designed “Help Haiti Heal” T-shirts.
Watch and hear Katharine explain the T-shirts herself:
The T-shirts are being sold in more than 900 American Eagle Outfitters stores throughout the U.S., and worldwide at www.ae.com/haiti. The T-shirts were made in Haiti, by Haitians, to mark the first anniversary of the earthquake and raise awareness about the continuing need to help Haiti heal. The entire purchase price of US $15.50 will be donated to Concern Worldwide’s education program in Haiti, with the potential to raise as much as US $1 million.
The proceeds raised from the sale of the Help Haiti Heal t-shirts will: rebuild and repair two schools that were destroyed during the earthquake, provide 1,000 earthquake-affected children with access to primary education, equip the two schools with classroom furniture (desks, chairs), install clean water systems, latrines and sanitation at the two schools and ensure that the most vulnerable children in the communities receive a primary education.
Jesse James and Kat Von D are engaged. The news was broken to People magazine by James saying: “Growing old with her is going to be a f—-n’ blast!”
James also said 2010 was the best year of his life! “You know sometimes the public and press gets it wrong. This is one of those times. 2010 was actually the best year of my life because I fell in love with my best friend. An amazing woman who stood behind me when the world turned their backs,” James said in a statement.
“I have never met anyone so kind and loving and committed to making the world a better place every day. My love for her is beyond description. So honored that she said ‘yes.’ Growing old with her is going to be a f—-n’ blast!”
What does Kat think about her hubbie-to-be? “There is no one else for me. He’s the one.”
Alrighty then, congratulations to the newlyweds to be.
Details are sketchy here folks and I usually don’t print rumors, but this was promoted by The Office‘s Facebook page, so, it’s a bit more official than tabloid fodder.
It appears that David Brent of the British version of the show as played by Ricky Gervais and Michael Scott of the American version as played by Steve Carell will be meeting face to face at Dunder-Mifflin some time this season.
Per TVLine.com, inside sources confirm that Gervais will be making an appearance in an upcoming episode of the U.S. version of the show.
How exciting is that?!
I for one can’t wait for this awesomeness in the making. But I won’t get my hopes up that Gervais will take over the role of office manager permanently. Or could he? Would he?
This past Monday I was at Nordstrom at The Grove and saw a handsome young man sitting on a couch in the shoe department for a long time.
I knew I had seen that sweet face on TV before, but could not place him. Then it hit me today. It was Alex Lambert, the guy with the soulful voice who got kicked off of last season’s American Idol way too early.
It turns out, the same day I saw him, he sent this sad message via Twitter:
“I’ve been kinda homeless! O my goodness yall! Ive been crashin on the street and behind buildings. I have a choice to stay and pursue my career or go back to texas and not do music! I’m usually a strong person but I can’t take it anymore. I’ve been goin to coffee shops and other stores so I can tweet to my snaf! Because to be honest! You guys are all I really have!”
In response, a spokesperson for 19 Entertainment responded to Lambert’s situation: “He’s not homeless. He’s on a retainer, and he’s getting money every month. He’s working on demos. He’s with writers, he’s working on music. He’s not homeless. How could he be texting? How could he be going into [the] recording studio and sleeping on the streets? There’s no record deal yet, but hopefully something could come from [these demos].”
So, in response, Alex Tweeted: “Sorry for the miscommunication. I’m just fine. The money that I was makin and have made I have sent home for my Mother and my 3 broke ass brothers sleepin on the ground! I just wanted the people that loved me to know what was really goin on. I know a lot of people think I tweeted my living situation for publicity! But I don’t give a damn about fame! I’m real! And I don’t lie! and I would never lie to y’all! (y’all being my supporters who got my back through thick and thin) Fu– yeah I was … sleepin outside! That shi- sucks too! I’m goin back home to get my shi- together! But I will be back! And I’m comin strong! LETS DO THIS!”
Poor guy–he really does have the talent to make it, just seems like he is a bit short on the luck side of life. Amazing how things could have turned out differently had he not been booted off of Idol too early. Good luck Alex, hope to run into you again kid.
