At a preliminary hearing held Friday April 22, Lindsay Lohan caught a break on the pending necklace theft charge against her but had the book thrown at her for violation of her probation stemming from her 2007 DUI.

Judge Stephanie Sautner reduced the theft charge from a felony to a misdemeanor, which although a less serious offense, could still carry a jail term of up to one year. Lindsay will have a chance to go to trial to prove her innocence.

On the probation violation, Lindsay was spanked with a sentence of 120 days in county jail and 480 hours of community service. 360 of those hours must be spent at the Downtown Women’s Center and 120 hours at the L.A. County morgue.

Lohan immediately appealed the ruling and was allowed to post a $75,000 bail to stay free pending appeal.

What’s an LA criminal trial without look-a-likes

TMZ is reporting that Lindsay Lohan‘s father, Michael Lohan, has been arrested in Los Angeles, CA, on suspicion of domestic violence.

Per TMZ, the arrest came after Michael’s girlfriend filed a report with the Sheriff’s Department claiming that the couple got into an argument which eventually turned physical. The girlfriend is reported to have had visible marks on her from the alleged altercation.
