Green Day Cancels All Upcoming Arena Tour & Club Dates

Green Day is canceling the rest of its 2012 tour schedule at North American clubs and is also postponing the commencement of its 2013 arena tour so Billie Joe Armstrong can continue his rehab for substance abuse.

“Obviously, the timing for this isn’t ideal, but Billie Joe’s well-being is our main concern,” said Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt. “We are happy to say that Billie Joe is doing well, and we want to thank you all for the outpouring of support and well wishes that we have received, and we can’t wait to see you all again soon.” Continue reading

Two days after Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong had a mental meltdown on stage at iHeartRadio Music Festival, he has checked into rehab.

His rep told E!: “Green Day’s Billie Joe Armstrong is seeking treatment for substance abuse.” The rep added, “Green Day would like everyone to know that their set was not cut short by Clear Channel and to apologize to those they offended at the iHeartRadio Festival in Las Vegas. Poor Justin Bieber. He wasn’t even at iHeartRadio Music Festival, but that did not stop Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong from cussing the teenager out.

Here is what happened. Green Day was on stage in Las Vegas at the famous festival when they were given a one-minute warning to finish their set short of schedule.
