Florence Henderson: “Crabs Do Not Discriminate”

Here’s a story, of a lovely lady, who cheated on her hubbie and got…crabs?

Florence Henderson, the iconic mother of The Brady Bunch, is publishing a memoir in which she admits she cheated on her husband in the 1960s with John Lindsay, the then Mayor of New York City.

“I was lonely. I knew it wasn’t the right thing to do,” the actress writes in Life is Not a Stage, her  memoir to be released September 20. But that’s not where the story ends…

Henderson awoke the next morning in the Beverly Hills Hotel to “little black things” crawling over her bed and body and was later diagnosed as having a pubic lice STD.

Henderson says: “I learned the hard way that crabs do not discriminate but cross over all socioeconomic strata. He must have had quite the active life. What a way to put the kibosh on a relationship.”

Ahm, did you say, Relationship?

Florence Henderson Booted Off Of Dancing With The Stars

Oh, no, not TV’s favorite mom, Mrs. Brady! And not on TV-theme night! But alas, it was Florence Henderson who was voted off of Dancing with the Stars during Tuesday night’s elimination show after dancing to the theme of The Brady Bunch.

Florence and her partner, Corky Ballas actually got decent scores on Monday night from the judges, but it appears the fans did not dial in and Florence became the fifth star to leave the show.

After learning she was to leave, Florence said: “I have been in TV for over 50 years, and I have to say in all honesty that this is one of the best-produced shows I’ve ever been on.

“I’ve loved this show since it began. I think it’s just a tremendous show. I hope I’ve inspired people to get up off their behind and move and dance and live and enjoy life.”

Here are Corky and Florence a couple of weeks ago when I ran into them at a Mark Ballas (Corky’s son) concert:

DANCING WITH THE STARS –
MEET THE CAST.

Dancing with the Stars‘ Florence Henderson needs no introduction. We know she’s a multi-talented actress, talk show host, recording artist, author, Broadway veteran and philanthropist. But all we keep screaming excitedly in our heads is: “It’s Mrs. Brady!!!!!”  At least I did when I met her recently.
Florence played “America’s Favorite Mom” and matriarch Carol Brady, on the classic hit TV series The Brady Bunch, which aired for five seasons (1969-1974), has never been off the air in this country, and currently airs in 122 countries around the world.

Corky & Son Mark Ballas

Florence’s partner is Corky Ballas, the father of fellow DWTS cast member, Mark Ballas! Corky was also Cloris Leachman’s partner previously on DWTS. Corky has been dancing since he was six years old.

Growing up his father owned and operated one of the largest dance studios in the world and eventually invented the Weed Eater. His mother was a famous Flamenco Dancer who appeared in films and studied alongside Carmen Amaya.

Corky only started training for International Latin Dancing when he was 22. Here he met his dance partner Shirley (Mark’s Mom) who also trained him and would eventually become his wife. Together Corky and Shirley made up one of professional competitive Latin Dance’s most successful couples ever.
