Donnie Walhberg Saves A Life Through Twitter..Really..

Donnie Wahlberg, best known as a member of New Kids On The Block and such films and TV series as The Sixth Sense, Blue Bloods and Band of Brothers, just saved a life through Twitter. No, seriously, he really did.

Wahlberg got a couple of Tweets from his fan base about a NKOTB fan, Bobbette Miller, needing a kidney transplant. So, he looked into the situation and re-Tweeted the message.

Here is what Wahlberg told the Boston Herald: “Basically, a few of my Twitter followers retweeted a blog (called ‘Love Can Do Anything’) about a fan named Bobbette who was in desperate need of a kidney transplant. So I saw the tweet, read the link and then retweeted and asked for help.”

What’s amazing is that Wahlberg’s 183,000-plus followers took action too and flooded the telephone lines of Vanderbilt University Medical Center where Miller was being treated. And guess what? Not one, but six possible matches were found! And, Miller is now scheduled for a transplant in June. Wahlberg credits the miracle to a “team effort.”

What an uplifting story….Love it!
