Movie Fans Are Raising Money To Send M. Night Shyamalan Back To Film School

BIZARRE BUT TRUE.

Remember the chills you felt back in 1999 when you first watched The Sixth Sense, directed by then-newcomer M. Night Shyamalan? We all knew we had found our next Steven Spielberg.

Well, we weren’t exactly right and it hasn’t exactly been a bed of roses for Shyamalan ever since.
Sure, his string of movies after, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village, The Lady In The Water, have all made money. They’ve made money because we keep buying tickets in the hopes that we once again find the magic that was the Sixth Sense…but each time, we walk away more disappointed than the last.  Continue reading

I Dream Of Jeannie’s Barbara Eden Tells All In Memoir (Photos)

The 1960’s I Dream Of Jeannie star Barbara Eden has penned a tell-all memoir called Jeannie Out of the Bottle which details the public and private tragedies accompanying her Hollywood fame, including intimate stories of two failed marriages and the heartbreaking loss of her only son to drugs.
Part pristine Hollywood princess and part classic bombshell, with innocence, strength, and comedic talent to spare, Barbara finally lets Jeannie out of her bottle to tell her whole story.
“Like Jeannie, I’ve been bottled up long enough — it’s time for me to pop the cork and talk about the amazing people I’ve been fortunate enough to meet along the way, and the highs and lows of my everyday living,” Barbara said in a statement about the then-impending book last year.
The book was published April 5 and Barbara was at Barnes & Nobles at The Grove in Los Angeles Saturday for a book signing and fan meet and greet. Enjoy the pictures from the event:

Nicolas Cage Arrested For Domestic Violence

I think a lot of people saw this one coming after Nicolas Cage was caught on tape recently having drunken rants.

Cage was arrested in New Orleans early Saturday morning after an alleged altercation with his wife Alice.

According to TMZ, the New Orleans Police Department states that Cage and Alice got into an argument on the street about the address of their rental home in New Orleans and Cage grabbed Alice by the arm to take her to where he thinks the two were staying.

Police arrived at the scene and only arrested Cage after he taunted the cops into doing so. “Why don’t you just arrest me?” he asked the officers. And they did for disturbing the peace and domestic violence.

Apparently it’s not a ‘Party in the U.S.A’ for Miley Cyrus anymore. Instead of keeping things local, Miley is headed to South America and Australia for her forthcoming Gypsy Heart Tour which is set to kick off on April 27.

But why is Cyrus fleeing the country? Turns out she isn’t feeling the love from America.

“I just think right now America has gotten to a place where I don’t know if they want me to tour or not,” she told Fox News. “Right now I just want to go to the places where I am getting the most love and Australia and South America have done that for me.”

But Miley is doing more than just touring abroad, she’s also withholding her music from her American fans — she released her cover, ‘Every Rose Has Its Thorn’ in Australia and currently has no plans to bring it home.

As of yet, Cyrus will not be touring her new album, ‘Can’t be Tamed,’ at all in the U.S. Her American fans will have to splurge on a plane and concert ticket to see Cyrus live this summer.

Miley only wants to go “to the places where I get the most love. Don’t want to go anywhere where I don’t feel completely comfortable with it,” she said.

So what’s got the pop star so jilted on her mother country? We’ve got no clue. Her family drama seems to be mending itself — dad, Billy Ray Cyrus, just called of his divorce from wife, Trish — and her U.S. records sales have been through the roof. How’s that for showing some American love?

As for her family: “My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I’m happy they are happy.”

It sounds like everything is swell in the Cyrus household but what’s one family who won’t be sharing in the happiness? Cyrus’ American fans. Cyrus would rather struggle through her subpar Spanish in South America.

“I Speak zero Spanish,” she said. “I actually failed Spanish so I will have someone with me making sure I can get through my way.”

Spotted: YouTube Sensation Rebecca Black (Photos)

Rebecca Black’s YouTube video, Friday, surpassed the 100 million view milestone this week. Believe it or not, it is now the 23rd most watched music video of all time on YouTube. And climbing.

And if that weren’t amazing enough for someone totally unknown a few weeks ago, it was reported recently that the cast of Glee will pay homage to the YouTube sensation by performing the song on an upcoming episode of the show.

How did Rebecca celebrate? She came to The Grove Friday for a chit chat with Mario Lopez of Extra. Here are some pictures of her after the interview:

Darren Criss Dishes On Start Of His Career And His Future

Glee star Darren Criss graces the upcoming cover of  Billboard magazine.

The accompanying story talks about Criss’ start in musical theater, a possible solo album and the Glee tour. Here are some excerpts:

Why he started in musical theater:
“For me, it was Disney. I remember seeing people’s reaction to ‘Aladdin’ and thinking, ‘Oh, man, I want to be a genie when I grow up!’ Robin Williams is a pretty big character in San Francisco. I was like, ‘I want to do whatever that guy does. What does he do, Mom? He’s an actor? OK, I want to do that.'”

About a possible solo album with Sony music:
“We’re working on it – we’re really excited and it’s something I’ve been wanting to do for a long time. I’m so thrilled that it’s something that can happen because of ‘Glee,’ and like the Warblers album I hope I can do it justice and make it something that people can really enjoy.”

About playing at Staples Center:
“A year ago, I was so psyched that my first show in LA was at the Troubadour. Talk about so much for baby steps. It’s like, ‘Wait — Staples Center, are you kidding me?’ I was happy to drive around in a beat-up, crappy old van with my bandmates and just go to small clubs around the country.”
