VIDEO: Idol Champ Scotty McCreery Has A Lip-Sync Malfunction

It was a bad day for American Idol season 10 contestants on Thanksgiving Day 2011.

First, runner-up Lauren Alaina flubbed the National Anthem at the start of the Detroit Lions vs. Green Bay Packers football game.
Then, reigning Idol champ Scotty McCreery, forgot to start singing a lip-sync song in time at the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

McCreery’s song, The Trouble With Girls, started. But McCreery’s lips did not. But, admittedly, he did recover rather quickly as he jumped in to where he was supposed to be soon after the flub.
Watch Scotty’s only bad TV moment below:

VIDEO: Former Idol Lauren Alaina Flubs National Anthem

“It’s all about how you finish,” said announcer Joe Buck during the Thanksgiving NFL game between the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.

And no, Buck was not talking about the Packers winning despite a sluggish first half. He was talking about American Idol season 10 runner-up Lauren Alaina who flubbed while singing the National Anthem at the start of her performance but who finished strong on an extremely powerful note.

During her rendition of The Star-Spangled BannerAlaina went totally silent after singing “What so proudly we hailed, through the twi…” Yet, somehow, she gathered herself and finished the song, picking up at “Whose broad stripes and bright stars…,” never looking back. She finished by flashing her famous smile as millions watched around the world.

Alaina was not the only Idol from her season who had a rough day in front of a live televised audience on Thanksgiving Day. Season 10 Idol winner Scotty McCreery was also caught on camera making a mistake – He started way too late on a lip-synced song during Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

All My Children & One Life To Live Canceled, AGAIN!

As a long-time fan of General Hospital, it pains me to report this news to fellow ABC soap-lovin’ fans:

Despite news in July that the ABC canceled shows All My Children and One Life to Live were getting a second life online by Prospect Park, there is now sad news that the online attempt is being canned as well.

So, looks like the sun has permanently set in Llanview and Pine Valley.
Prospect Park announced Wednesday that it has called it quits on its plan to keep the two soaps alive past their cancellation dates on ABC.
Rich Frank and Jeff Kwatinetz of Prospect Park said in a statement to E! News:“After five months of negotiations with various guilds, hundreds of presentations to potential financial and technology partners, and a hope that we could pioneer a new network for the future, it is with great disappointment that we are suspending our aspirations to revive One Life to Live and All My Children via online distribution.”

BOTTOM TWO (AFTER LAKODA RAYNE GOT ELIMINATED):

LeRoy Bell
Marcus Canty

Marcus Canty sings first for survival. He does a rendition of Christina Aguilera’s You Lost Me.
LeRoy Bell sings Don’t Let Me Down by The Beatles.

ELIMINATED / VOTED OFF:
1. Lakoda Rayne
2. LeRoy Bell

VOTING:
-L.A. Reid said Marcus has been consistent all season and so he saved his own mentee, Marcus. He also urged the other judges to remember how good Marcus has been all season (probably since LeRoy killed Marcus in the ‘sing for survival’ round).
-Nicole saved her mentee LeRoy, but said there is no doubt in her mind that Marcus is a star.
-Paula told Marcus that he is one of her favorites but he didn’t deliver tonight (I agree). She chose to send home Marcus because LeRoy sang for his life better (he did – he was electrifying).
-Simon said he likes them both. In the competition, he said, Marcus is nodging ahead of LeRoy but also said that LeRoy sang better for survival. So, Simon chose to save Marcus to tie things up 2-2. Because of the tie with the judges’ votes, we had to resort to fan votes. The person with the lowest number of fan votes was LeRoy Bell so he was eliminated.

Jennifer Hudson Speaks On Her Family’s Murders & Says She Was Supposed To Be There Too

Jennifer Hudson experienced an extremely horrific event in 2008 when her mother, nephew and brother were shot to death in her mother’s house in Chicago.

The singer just revealed to Ebony magazine for the first time ever that she was supposed to be in the same house at the same time as the shootings.

Lucky for Hudson, right before the day of the shootings, her fiance, David Otunga, called her and asked her to fly to Florida instead of going to see her family in Chicago. “That’s one of the things that saved my life. Because I could have been home with my mom then,” Hudson explains.

The singer adds: “[David] wanted me to come out to Florida with him instead of going to Chicago. I flew out to see him; that’s why I’m still here.” Hudson continues, I’ve never said that before, and I can’t believe I just said that now. But I didn’t know. He was just like, ‘I’m going to this wrestling thing, and it’s in Tampa. I’m going out there now, so you can come out there and see me versus going home.'”

Regarding the massacre of her family, the Oscar winner says the entire event remains a “surreal blur.” William Balfour, the estranged husband of Jennifer’s sister, was charged with the murder of Hudson’s family. “For almost two weeks straight . . . [I was] inside one room with just family and friends coming in and out,” Hudson says. “I prayed when I’d get up in the morning and prayed before I laid down at night.”
