President Barack Obama may have approved his latest campaign ad featuring Big Bird, but the powers to be on “Sesame Street” sure didn’t. In fact, The Sesame Workshop, the group which runs Sesame Street, has asked the president to pull down the ad with Big Bird at its center.

Awards season is fully upon us and nominations for the 2012 American Music Awards have just been announced. The ceremony will be televised live November 18 on ABC.
Rapper Nicki Minaj and R&B star Rihanna have the most nods, with four a piece. Rihanna was nominated in the top category – artist of the year. She is pitted against Justin Bieber, Katy Perry, Maroon 5 and Drake. The Voice airs a brand new episode tonight October 8, 2012 as the competition starts its Battle Round Part 1. Tonight, the singers start the duet battles and the coaches get to decide who stays and who goes home.
In addition, for the first time ever on The Voice, Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton have a chance to steal other coaches’ artists. How the new steal twist works is that it will allow each coach to be able to steal two artists from any other coaches’ team once the contestants have been eliminated from that respective coach’s line-up.
