Last night, Volkswagen of America held its 4th Annual Drive-in Movie Event with special celebrity guest Shay Mitchell in Los Angeles, C.A. The people’s automotive brand transformed an outdoor space of the Petersen Automotive Museum into a classic drive-in movie theater environment complete with light bites, cocktails and a screening of Bumblebee, viewed from the comfort of various 2019 Volkswagen models.
The 2018 blockbuster, which served as a prequel to the popular Transformers franchise, was selected for the event as its titular character, Bumblebee/B-127, spends the majority of the film guised as a 1967 Volkswagen Beetle. A drive-in movie like none other, the event made guests among the first to see the brand’s all-new 2020 Atlas Cross Sport SUV and the Petersen Automotive Museum’s latest exhibition, “Building an Electric Future” featuring Volkswagen.

Mitchell, who recently welcomed the birth of her first child, Atlas Noa, was dressed in a Jean Paul Gaultier blazer. Coincidentally, Mitchell’s newborn daughter shares the same name as Volkswagen’s popular Atlas SUV, which the former Pretty Little Liars and You star arrived in and posed with for photos during the event.

Throughout the evening, Mitchell explored the all-new exhibit, “Building an Electric Future,” featuring Volkswagen, and chatted about her first car (a Volkswagen Golf), her new show Dollface and the upcoming launch of BÉIS Baby.
