Actress Abigail Spencer sizzled at the 2016 People’s Choice Awards in an Alexia Maria–designed minidress featuring a fitted bodice and floor-length skirt overlay. Joico’s Celebrity Hair Stylist Castillo completed Abigail’s look with an elegant updo using Joico’s Heat set, Flip turn spray, Dry oil spray, Refresh dry shampoo.

Here is how you two can get Abigail’s killer hairdo:
Step1:
Start on damp hair
Use a dollar coin size of heat set cream.
Start at the front hair line, work the product through your hair until tips. I like to use a little extra on the ends just to be mindful of damaged ends. Brush through hair to release any tangles and to fully disperse cream.

Step 2:
Divide hair into 4 sections
Top, right side, left side, back

Step 3:
Blow dry with a round brush and set.
Comb through and spray a good amount of iron clad on each section. Focus on the ends and around the front framing pieces.

Step 4:
With a 1 1/2 inch hot iron curl 1 inch- 1 1/2 inch sections in alternating directions. Continue through out each section until done.
Once each coil has cooled, spray a generous amount of refresh dry shampoo at the roots and ends.
Brush through hair again. This give the hair enough room to breathe and enough texture to create your up do.

Step 5:
Divide hair into two sections
One bottom section and one top section
The bottom section will start at nape and end above the ears.

Step 6:
Grab the bottom section and create a pony tail at the mid of the back of the head. Spin and twist pony, fasten ends with pins.
Divide the top section into 3 sub sections
Top, left side, right side. Starting on either side, grab the side section and pull it toward the small pony in the back of your head. Wrap the section around the existing pony and pin. I like to get creative with this part and create a figure 8 with my end pieces. Repeat on opposite side.

Step 7:
Now grab the top section.
you want add a little volume to create hight so back comb the section first, then feed it into the updo. Pin each piece into the existing pony.
Once you’ve finished the style take a moment to personalize the look by slights pulling and spacing out pieces in your up do. This will add the romantic and whimsical touch and also add depth and texture.
Finish the look with joico flip turn spray
