Our favorite beagle Snoopy has reached the ultimate Tinseltown dream: He received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame today.

Snoop’s number came in at 2,563, just in time for the upcoming release of his feature film, The Peanuts Movie. Of course Snoopy’s star would be located nowhere else but right next to that of his creator, Charles Schulz.

Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz’s son Craig came out to support Snoopy and said, “No one is more deserving than Snoopy to have a star on the Walk of Fame next my dad’s, and my dad would be so honored to have all you folks here to come out to wish Snoopy the best.” Craig added, “Snoopy, you deserve it. I’m gonna give you a dog bone when we get home.”

Believe it or not Snoopy isn’t the first animated character to get his very own star on the famed boulevard. Other big names coming before him include Bugs Bunny, Donald Duck, Mickey Mouse, Snow White and Shrek. Snoopy isn’t even the first dog to get the big-time honors. He was beat out by Lassie and Rin Tin Tin. But take a look at how happy Snoopy was just to finally be sitting at the big boys’ table. Snoopy, it looks like you have made it!
