Celebrities React To Cory Monteith’s Death

Twitter was flooded with celebrity responses to the shocking death of “Glee” star, Cory Monteith. The 31 year old was found dead in a hotel in Vancouver on Saturday.  No official cause of death has been confirmed but rumors of a drug overdose are swirling. According to Vancouver police, an autopsy is scheduled for Monday.

Monteith has had previous issues with substance abuse and checked into rehab earlier this year.  His last public outing was with his girlfriend and “Glee” co-star Lea Michele at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball on June 8.

The star’s publicist released a statement confirming Monteith’s passing, “We are so saddened to confirm that the reports on the death of Cory Monteith are accurate. We are in shock and mourning this tragic loss.”

“Glee‘s “executive producers, 20th Century Fox Television and Fox Broadcasting Company released a joint statement “We are deeply saddened by this tragic news. Cory was an exceptional talent and an even more exceptional person. He was a true joy to work with and we will all miss him tremendously. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones.”

Mark Saling  (Puck) was the first “Glee” cast member to react via twitter, tweeting a simple “no.”

“So You Think You Can Dance” judge, Adam Shankman, who directed several episodes of Glee told CNN, “”I had several interactions with him yesterday where he said that he was doing amazing,” … “He even said I am feeling fantastic. I’m like everybody else, really devastated and confused by what happened.” Shankman also tweeted “”Goodbye my amazing and beautiful friend. The lights in my world just grew dimmer. The world just lost one of our best. I love u so much…”

Co-star Dot Marie Jones (Coach Beistie) soon chimed in with a sweet tweet of her own, “I HAVE NO WORDS! MY HEART IS BROKEN CORY WAS NOT ONLY A HELL OF A FRIEND HE WAS ONE AMAZING MEN THAT I WILL HOLD CLOSE TO MY HEART FOREVER. I AM BLESSED TO HAVE WORKED WITH HIM AND LOVE HIM SO MUCH! MY HEART IS WITH HIS FAMILY AND OUR WHOLE GLEE FAMILY! I LOVE YOU ALL!

Frequent “Glee” guest star, Kristin Chenoweth tweeted “RIP Cory Montieth. You will be loved. Always.

Kim Kardashian, who has been MIA on twitter recently sent out a message, “Just heard about the death of Cory Monteith. So sad. Prayers 4 his family. Praying 4 Lea too! Words cant describe what they must be feeling.”
