WHO GETS VOTED OFF AND ELIMINATED ON AMERICAN IDOL TONIGHT?
Janelle Arthur received the least votes. She sang “Keep Me Hanging On” by Kim Wilde for her Save Me song. But, sadly for Janelle, the judges do not save her –it was a 2-2 tie rather than the needed unanimous vote. JANELLE ARTHUR IS ELIMINATED TONIGHT!

MINUTE BY MINUTE OF TONIGHT’S SHOW:

-Tonight’s show starts with a Donna Summer medley of songs by our ladies.
– The girls are getting individual critiques tonight.  Angie Miller is first. Jimmy Iovine said last night that her performances are “too over emotional” and her believability came a bit short for him.  Nicki Minaj saysJimmy has “no idea what he’s talking about”. She gets it because Angie pronounces each syllable when singing but she was a 10/10 last night!
-Candice Glover is up next. All the judges lover her performances last night. Jimmy said she blew his mind last night. Randy Jackson says he could not reach Paula Abdul about last night’s rendition of her song by Candice and then Paula Abdul comes out and surprises Candice! Paula tells Candice she’s watched her captivate the audience all season and she’s her biggest fan.
-Ryan points out the audience VIP section which includes the Fall Out Boys, Jason Derulo and girlfriend Jordin Sparks. Ryan asked Jordin, “when’s teh wedding?” And Jordin simply pointed to Jason.
– Clay Aiken returns to the Idol stage to perform his Idol Season 2 finale song of“Bridge Over Troubled Water.” Oh dear lord his voice is as precious as ever. Watch Clay’s performance here.
-Janelle Arthur is up for review next. Jimmy says the Dolly Parton song was the wrong song for her and called her a strike out. Ryan saved the night, at least temporarily, read aloud a note to Janelle from Dolly Parton! The note said “we know you’re not dumb, and we know you are not blonde. You are very talented!”
-Amber Holcomb is told by Jimmy that he thinks Amber will be “rewarded for her bravery” in tackling a Mariah Carey and a Barbara Streisand song. He said it was like jumping out of a plane without a parachute.
-Kree Harrison is last up for review. Jimmy feels Kree made the wrong song choices. He also said Keith and Randy and looked like deer caught in headlights when Nicki and Mariah “politely disagreed over Kree last night.”
-We get an update on Latoya London who was on Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson’s season–the trio lovingly known as The Three Divas. If you remember, the Three Divas ended up in the bottom three the night Jennifer Hudson was sent packing. LaToya did some theater after Idol and was in The Color Purple Broadway show with Fantasia. She is now reviving her music career. She is in the studio recording now and will be going on tour.
-Fantasia returns to sing Lose To Win
