Monday’s episode of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (February 11, 2013) is titled “Games of Scones”. Below is a full recap of episode # 13.
Tea Time! Lisa decides that Adrienne has been out of the group for too long so she throws a tea party and invites Adrienne but first, she meets with Kyle.
Lisa and Kyle finally hash out their differences. Lisa is still mad that Kyle didn’t
defend her against Adrienne’s attacks last season and that she didn’t stand up for
her last week during the argument with Camille. Lisa notes that Kyle has been
very vocal in her support of Adrienne but not so when it comes to her. Kyle says
she doesn’t like confrontation but is sorry and will work on being a better friend.
Lisa isn’t ready to let it go, she even goes so far as to tell Kyle exactly what to say to apologize to her- “say you feel really about not defending me and then I’ll move on.”
Kyle refuses to be forced to spoon-feed her an apology, “I’m not going to be told to
do that like that.” Kyle just wants to end the discussion and drop the issue once and for all. Lisa isn’t ready to forgive and forget just yet, she agrees to bury the hatchet but the tight smile on her face suggests her fingers were crossed behind her back.
New BFF alert! Brandi and Yolanda are becoming fast friends. Brandi met up
with Yolanda at her daughter’s horseback riding lesion. I have such a love/hate
relationship with Yolanda- I love that she is laid back, sensible and not obsessed
with shoes and purses like the rest of the ladies but I hate her when she wants
sympathy for her RGP- Rich Girl Problems (read through my previous recaps for a
rundown of the “problems” Mrs. Foster has to deal with). This time, she is sitting
with Brandi, who doesn’t have two nickels to rub together and tells her, “I wish I
had more money to put into her sport (she’s referring to her daughter’s horseback
riding lessons). Most kids here have 2 or 3 horses and I can only afford one.” Really, only one horse Yolanda…how to your find the strength to go on? If you have seen Yolanda and her husband David Foster’s home you know that she is not hurting for money. She has a glass enclosed walk in refrigerator and her backyard opens up to the Pacific Ocean and she flies around in private jets; meanwhile Brandi leases a small 3 bedroom house and lives there with her 2 children.
Brandi tells Yolanda she is apprehensive about attending Lisa’s tea party since
Adrienne will be there. Yolanda gives her some sisterly advice about dealing with
Ms. Maloof. She tells Brandi, “Adrienne is a very insecure woman that is using her
status to intimidate people. Using her rich girl powers to intimidate people in this
group and I don’t think it’s cool. If she had balls and she felt strongly about her
conviction she would pick up the phone and talk to you and say ‘listen woman I
don’t like you did this, this and that’ but instead she calls a lawyer because she can
and she has the money to do so. Who is Adrienne Maloof in this world? In the big
picture she is nobody.”
The day of the tea party arrives- Faye Resnick and Camille Grammer are also invited, while Yolanda and Kim can’t make it. Kim, a frequent no show at events calls Lisa and tells her some insane story about her new dog hitting her in her new nose (she is recovering from a nose job) so she is unable to attend. Lisa has decorated everything in pink, of course, there are pink roses on the table and hot guys behind the bar- she borrowed 2 of the bartenders that work at her restaurant Sur and are featured in her spinoff show, Vanderpump Rules.
Everyone is doing their best to behave themselves but you can tell they are white
knuckling it- but of course, in true housewife fashion their ultra-feminine tea party
erupts in to chaos that is anything but ladylike.
A drunk Taylor kicks things off by asking Brandi ‘Did Adrienne send you a letter
about suing you.” Brandi tells her that Adrienne’s lawyer sent her lawyer a letter.
Adrienne vehemently denies the allegation, “No there is no lawsuit.” Side note-
at the time Brandi made the comment that started this whole situation; Adrienne
called her a liar several times and threatened to sue her. Recently, Adrienne has
admitted that Brandi’s statement that Adrienne’s twins were born via surrogate is
true. So when Adrienne accuses someone else of being a liar, it is hard to be sure
that she isn’t the one who is lying.
Shockingly Brandi keeps her mouth shut but Taylor continues to stoke the fire.
Finally Brandi is forced to defend herself and confront Adrienne. “Your lawyer didn’t
send my lawyer a letter?” Adrienne tells her, “absolutely not.” Brandi tells her “Ok
I have the letter.” Adrienne tells her she never wanted to sue her. Well that’s odd
because millions of people heard Adrienne and her husband Paul threaten to sue
Brandi several times when the infamous episode aired a few weeks ago. Adrienne
then accuses Brandi of lying and saying that her staff is spreading rumors about
Brandi. Brandi tells her that it is the truth and implicates Adrienne’s chef, Bernie as
the one leaking the stories. Adrienne is furious and shouts “how dare you, you don’t
accuse Bernie, shame on you.” Brandi tells Adrienne she is “full of s**t” and storms
out.
Kyle tells Lisa, “Remind me to never come to one of your tea parties again. “This is
Lisa’s second tea party to end in tears. Last season, it was Taylor who left the party
crying when Camille said on-camera that Taylor’s husband beat her (which was
apparently an open secret amongst all of the ladies, much like Kim’s alcoholism
in Season 1 that Kyle blabbed about on camera, thus beginning her feud with
her sister… I’m noticing a pattern here). Interestingly enough, Taylor’s husband
threatened to sue Camille, which is why Taylor was turned away and uninvited from
Kyle’s “white party” last season. Well, guess what happens next week… The “white
party!”
Next: Kim unveils her new nose. Taylor’s drinking comes to a head when she
proclaims that she is in love and is jetting off with her new boyfriend. Kyle is
babysitting Taylor’s 7-year-old daughter and asks if she needs her to keep her for
an extra night, Taylor’s response- “oh she’s with you?” Adrienne and Paul fight with
Brandi again, but this time Lisa’s husband Ken jumps in to defend her.
