Cassadee Pope –winner of Season 2 of The Voice–already knows the type of music she wants to make on her debut solo album. In an interview with CNN, the singer said the album will be:

“A little bit more of a Nineties, early 2000s feel.” Cassadee added, “Pop-rock but with a little bit of a country twist on it. There’s a lot of things to work out and I know that it’s going to take some meetings to figure it out. But I would love to do pop-rock/country [album] so I’m able to cover all the bases.”

Pope, from Los Angeles, will be starting out fresh as a solo artist after touring with her pop/rock band, Hey Monday. She plays guitar as well as some bass, drums and violin and prides herself on knowing a “surprising amount of 1980s rock music.” In her spare time, Pope enjoys her hobbies of cooking, hiking and writing.
