Sharon Osbourne is quitting America’s Got Talent! The fiery redhead told The New York Post that she will no longer judge on the hit NBC show after this season is over because the network fired her son Jack Osbourne from the show Stars Earn Stripes.
Per Sharon, the firing came after news of Jack’s multiple sclerosis diagnosis became known and she calls it discrimination. Sharon claims that NBC fired Jack two days before filming was supposed to start on the program which pits celebrities against other celebs in military training exercises.
“It’s discrimination, and it was badly handled,” Osbourne tells the newspaper. NBC Producer David Hurwitz  defends the network by claiming that they never officially hired Jack. But in a May 18 email, Chuck LaBella, NBC’s VP of Talent Relations, wrote to Jack, “we are looking forward to working with you.”
After Jack went public with his MS diagnosis, he received another message from Hurwitz saying “the rigors of the show [would be] too intense” for Jack and the network would no longer proceed with their plans to include Jack in Stars Earn Stripes.
Mom Osbourne says it’s “time to move on” from America’s Got Talent.” NBC has issued this statement: “Sharon has been a valuable part of the NBC family. We regret any misunderstanding and wish Jack well.”
