Actress Mayim Bialik was involved in a serious car accident in Los Angeles Wednesday afternoon, sustaining severe injuries to her hands which may result in loss of a thumb.
The 26-year-old Blossom and Big Bang Theorystar was hit while driving by another car with three Chilean tourists inside at Hollywood Boulevard and LaBrea.
The accident occurred at noon and an ambulance soon arrived. Witnesses told TMZ that there was “tons and tons of blood everywhere,” recalling that Bialik’s finger was “almost completely severed… it was just hanging there.”
We wish Mayim the best in her recovery.
Update: Great news! Mayim is NOT losing her finger. She is fine and returning to work Thursday. “In pain but will keep all my fingers. If u wanna see pre accident me watch The Soup tonight lol #joelmchale @thesoup,” Mayim’s husband wrote on her Twitter account.
