Ali Fedotowsky picked Roberto Martinez as her fiance when her season of The Bachelorette ended. But when that relationship ran its course and ended in a split, rumors ran wild that Roberto will be the next Bachelor. But, as it turns out, Roberto does not need the $500K promised to him by ABC or Chris Harrison’s help in finding love. The handsome devil has gone ahead and found himself a woman, all in his own, and that woman, 26-year-old Kara Ramos, wants her new man to stay as far away from the hit ABC show as possible.

“We both really like each other,” Kara told Star Magazine. “It’s true we were together, but when I found out he was going to be the next Bachelor, I canceled my visit,” Kara continues, explaining that she would not date a man who would be on TV looking for a wife. “It was really hard on me.”

A friend of Martinez tells the mag: “There was instant attraction between Roberto and Kara. He fell for her so hard that a little while after they met, he attended a wedding in Florida and then made a detour to Connecticut before heading home to the West Coast, just to see her again.”

The friend adds that Martinez “decided that even a half million dollars wasn’t enough incentive to go back in the spotlight to find love on TV, especially with the promise of his new romance with a wonderful girl like Kara.” The friend concluded, “Roberto already knows what it takes to have a love relationship played out on national television, and he’d rather have his privacy now with a girl he’s really crazy about.”
