Ben Affleck wants to “say Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms in my life: My mom, Chris, and my amazing wife, Jennifer [Garner], who is an incredible, spectacular, world-class mom, and I want to thank her.”

Affleck wrote on his page: “Happy Mother’s Day to all the amazing Moms in my life.” The actor then asked, “Please share this video for the Mothers and Grandmothers in your lives in honor of their sacrifices, selflessness and courage.”

The special video which includes Affleck speaking was shot during his recent trip to the Democratic Republic of Congo. Most of the video [which you can see below] features footage of moms and children in that country.

In 2009, Affleck founded the Eastern Congo Initiative (ECI) with a mission to help the residents of eastern Congo develop community-based, local approaches to creating a sustainable society.

Affleck also says on the video: “And I want to say Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms I’ve met in the Democratic Republic of Congo who are on this video that I hope you watch.”

Affleck and wife Garner have three children together. Violet, 6, Seraphina Rose Elizabeth, 3, and newborn Samuel Garner, 2 ½ months.
