Judges’ comments:
Steven thought Jessica nailed the song and showed off a new side to her. He loved it.

Randy loved the vibe of a 16 year old to be able to bring to that song and said Jessica can sing the phone book.

Jennifer is proud of Jessica’s growl and feels Jessica is one of the best out there.
SECOND SONG: And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going by Jennifer Holliday [WATCH JESSICA PERFORM THE SONG HERE!]
Judges’ comments:
Steven calls it a winning performance. Says Jessica put herself in the song.

Jennifer says it’s a race to the finish now and anyone can win it. She said Jessica let out so much and she is so emotional after the song. Called it a real moment.

Randy says that Phillip, Josh and Jessica are in it to win it and that Jessica was amazing.

Judges’ comments: 
Jennifer says Joshua gave a great performance with all the drama [stage raising while he sang]!
Steven is happy Joshua is here and that he sang well.
Randy says what Joshua did is validate what the judges always say that if you are a good artist, then you can take on any song and make it your own. 
SECOND SONG: It’s A Man’s World by James Brown [WATCH JOSHUA PERFORM THAT SONG HERE!]
Judges’ comments:
Steven calls it the best performance ever on Idol! Actually, he then said he’s never heard anything like that in his life. “I can go home right now!”

Jennifer said when we all thought Joshua had already done all he could, he had more to show us.

Randy felt Joshua delivered tonight! And called it the best performance on any competition show ever. “I think that’s one of the best performances in the history of any singing show—including ours—any show!” exclaimed Randy.

FIRST SONG/California Dreamin’: Faithfully by Journey [WATCH HOLLIE’S PERFORMANCE HERE!]
Judges’ comments: 
Randy told her again like he did last week that she is peaking at the right time. “Hollie wants the gold!”

Jennifer says she always believed in Hollie and knew she could be this good.

Steven says that Hollie has grown up a little more and her creativity has bloomed.

SECOND SONG: I Can’t Make You Love Me by Bonnie Raitt.
Judges’ comments:
Steven says Jimmy is right about how the song should feel and he feels that Hollie fell a little short.
Jennifer agrees and thought Hollie may be too young to connect on this one. She said it just didn’t happen for her. She said when Hollie first started, she thought this could be an amazing song for her, but it just didn’t go the way JLo had hoped. “A little too much vibrato, too much shaking,” said JLo.

Randy blames the song as not being a good choice for this stage in the competition. “It gave you nowhere to go,” he lamented. “There were no moments for you.”

Judges’ comments: 
Steven says Phillip is awesome. Jennifer loved the change in his vocal ability. Randy thought it started off a little rough but once Phillip started to smile, he fell right in on the money! SECOND SONG: Volcano by Damien Rice [Watch Phillip perform Volcano here.]
Judges’ comments:
Jennifer says very few people could have pulled this kind of song off in a competition like Phillip did and calls it one of the most beautiful moments in her two years of doing Idol.

Randy called it amazing and one of his best performances of the whole season!
