You may have seen them on American Idol. You may have watched them on The Voice. But if somehow you have not yet heard of The Wanted, believe me, you soon will!

Singers Max George, Siva Kaneswaran, Jay McGuiness, Tom Parker and Nathan Sykes make up this Irish-British import band who have recently crashed onto the American music scene and who are about to explode. Some may argue that they have already arrived since their first US single, Glad You Came, just went double Platinum here.

The hottest boy band to hit these shores had American fans screaming at The Grove Thursday (April 26). They gifted their fans with a free concert after they did an interview with Mario Lopez and Renee Bargh of Extra. If all that weren’t enough to drive their fans wild, the boys stuck around for hours signing their CD’s at a fan meet and greet.

Why have The Wanted connected so quickly to an American audience? “I think the fans know us a lot more personally than I think they do with any other group because we put videos up on our website every week,” Nathan Sykes said.

“People just connect to us because we’re quite real and we don’t pretend to be anything we weren’t,” said singer Max George.

About their quick rise to fame, Siva Kaneswaran said: “You just go with the flow. You never can train for this job.” Jay McGuiness added “I think we were about 40 percent prepared and then 60 percent unexpected.”
