LIVE BLOG RECAP:

PERFORMANCES:

Team Cee Lo:

  • Jamar Rodgers sang It’s My Life by Bon Jovi. Blake loves that Cee Lo is working with Jamar and loved his song choice. Christina loves the way Jamar made the song his own. Cee Lo says the audience applause tells him that Jamar is a strong, sweet spirit–he adds that Jamar is a survivor and inspires all.
  • James Massone sang Just The Way You Are by Billy Joel. Blake said he has been a big fan of James from the beginning but he didn’t care for the song. Christina agrees with Blake. Adam loved it! Cee Lo enjoyed it and says James’ voice is genuine and natural and he sang the song wonderfully.
  • Cheesa sang I Have Nothing by Whitney Houston. Her performance was incredible! Christina said she had to applaud Cheesa for trying that song. She loved it and took it to notes that Whitney did not hit and that was original. Cee Lo just basked in his glory. “Cheese, baby you did such a wonderful job!”
  • Juliet Simms sang Crying by Aerosmith. Blake says this was a double bonus for him because the feathers of the angel wings Juliet was wearing reminded him of duck season. Christina called Juliet fabulous. Cee Lo says Juliet is his little red Corvette and he respects the quality of her voice and artistry.

Team Adam:

  • Katrina Parker sings Jar Of Hearts by Christina Perri. Blake said this was a breakout performance for Katrina. Christina says Katrina remained consistent and did fantastic. Cee Lo he agrees with Blake and said she looks and sounds beautiful. Adam tells Kathrina that he is proud of her. He adds that even though she was not one of his favorites at first, she has evolved so much that he loves her voice now, calling it flawless.
  • Mathai sings I’m Like A Bird by Nelly Furtado. Blake said Mathai sang it beautifully. Christina says Mathai did not connect with the song and it sounded forced-fed. Adam thought it was great and found her energy infectious.
  • Tony Lucca sings Oh BabyBaby by Britney Spears. Christina really liked it. Blake said it was a smart performance. Adam says it was a wild idea and it turned out fantastic and he loves him.
  • Pip sings Somewhere Only We Know by KEANE. Blake thought it was good over all until the end. Adam likes that Pip is not wearing a bow tie tonight and said even though he’s proud of him, some moments were not perfect.

  1. Sad sad sad that Pip is gone! I can’t believe that. His song tonight is the first one that I’ve wanted to buy on itunes….. 🙁

  2. Well I tried to vote for PIP all night. Thank you Adam! He was the best that you had. I will now go watch Dancing with the Stars. This show is all wrong. Good Bye. In fact I think he was the best of all the Singers.

  3. Why Pip? What the hell? Mathai is not a very talented singer and would in all honesty be better off at nursing school. You cannot even understand a damn word that leaves her mouth. Pip did not have the strongest performance tonight but he shouldn’t have been sent home. He is clearly one of the most if not the most talented singers on this show. Officially boycotting the rest of this season. Hopefully the third season does not get this screwed up. And losing points for not wearing his signature bow tie? Grow up. He does not always have to wear the same thing, no one else does. On a side note, Tony’s performance was extremely clever and a funny way to get back at Christina for being unnecessarily rude. However, his voice is not that strong and is not right for this show. Adam you are crazy.I hope pip gets a record deal, he is amazing.
