Melissa Gilbert Taken To Hospital After Injury On Set Of Dancing With The Stars

Moments after dancing her best routine of the season on Dancing with the Stars, Melissa Gilbert was rushed to the hospital.

“She injured herself,” host Tom Bergeron announced on the air Monday night, “and as a precaution she’s gone to the hospital to get checked out.”

We have no status update on the extent of Melissa’s injury [except for the update below]. Some of her fellow DWTS co-stars have said that she hit her head during the live routine of the Paso Doble with partner Maksim Chmerkovskiy. Karina Smirnoff told The Hollywood Reporter that Gilbert was feeling light-headed backstage and complained of dizziness.

She was so reportedly weak that fellow DWTS contestant Gavin DeGraw carried her out of the red room and out of the CBS studios from where DWTS is broadcast. She was then taken to the hospital and Maks went with her.
Fellow dancers Roshon Fegan and Chelsie Hightower were spotted at Mixology 101 in Hollywood and this is what the duo had to say about Melissa:

UPDATE: Gilbert tweeted late last night: “I’m alright. Mild concussion and whiplash. Very soon I will be safely home resting and being taken care of.” She then Tweeted: “@MaksimC you are my champion. I adore you. @GavinDeGrawbless your heart for carrying me down those stairs!”
